Planning Commission requests input

The city of Sandy Springs Planning Commission has recently added to its monthly agenda the opportunity for public comment.

“The goal is to better address planning and development issues by listening to the concerns of the community we represent and to whom we are responsible,” Roger Rupnow, chairman of the Planning Commission, said. “The move will help accurately reflect our community’s values and we invite you to come forward and share your vision with us.”

Within the new format, speakers will have a total of 10 minutes at the beginning of the agenda to present their issues for consideration and possible action. Key items for discussion might be suggestions, concerns and proposals that relate to the growth and development of the city. Discussion of current or pending zoning matters during this comment time is prohibited, however.

Written comments, position papers and Homeowners Association brochures are always welcome. They may be sent to: Sandy Springs Planning Commission, c/o Planning and Zoning Division, Department of Community Development, 7840 Roswell Road, Bldg. 500, Sandy Springs, GA 30350.

The Planning Commission meets the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. For additional information, please contact the Citizen Response Center at (770) 730-5600 or visiting www.sandyspringsga.org.
