RockBridge Commercial Bank names Cheatham CFO, director of marketing
RockBridge Commercial Bank has hired Dick Cheatham as new chief financial officer and director of marketing. Cheatham spent the last three years with Buckhead Community Bank as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
With more than 30 years of experience in finance, marketing and change management, Cheatham has worked with the likes of American National Bank & Trust Company, First Union National Bank, Liberty National Bank and Turner Broadcasting System during his career.
With a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Alabama, Cheatham is both a CPA and a certified forensic accountant. He also holds professional memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Sandy Springs-based RockBridge targets the financial needs of commercial clients and business owners. Its headquarters are located at 5607 Glenridge Drive N.E. in Sandy Springs.
Perimeter Center office space up in first quarter
The 2008 calendar year started strong for the Atlanta office market, posting positive absorption of 376,152 square feet, nearly double the 190,362 recorded in the first quarter of 2007, according to the Richard Bowers Co.
Suburban submarkets had positive absorption of 214,943 square feet, with 125,756 square feet of that in the Central Perimeter or I-285/GA-400 submarket.
Average rental rates across all Atlanta submarkets increased modestly from $21.15 in the fourth quarter of 2007 to $21.43 in the first quarter of 2008. The average rental rate for the urban corridor is $24.05 per square foot compared to the suburbs at $20.11 per square foot, nearly a $4 per square foot difference.
Ray’s Restaurants names operations head
Ray’s Restaurants LLC, which owns Ray’s on the River in Sandy Springs, has promoted Jim Wahlstrom to director of operations for the company. He previously was the operating partner at the company’s Ray’s Killer Creek restaurant on Mansell Road in Alpharetta.
In his new position, Wahlstrom will oversee operations at all three of the company’s restaurants, including Ray’s in the City in downtown Atlanta.
Wahlstrom joined Ray’s Restaurants in 2003 and brings more than 35 years of restaurant experience to the position.
Perimeter CID head to address chamber
Yvonne Williams, executive director of the Perimeter Community Improvement District (PCID) will be the featured speaker at the Monday, April 21, breakfast meeting of the Sandy Springs/Perimeter Chamber of Commerce (SSPC).
The meeting will be held at The Westin Atlanta North Hotel, 7 Concourse Parkway, Sandy Springs. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. and the event begins at 8 a.m.

Radiation Oncology Services joins St. Joseph’s
Radiation Oncology Services (ROS), an Atlanta business for over 25 years, is joining St. Joseph’s Hospital to direct clinical radiation therapy operations starting July 1.
Nancy Wiggers, MD, joins the St. Joseph’s team as medical director of the program, along with Peter Possert, MD and John Giesler, MD. ROS centers are fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation and Healthcare Organizations.
