Charles Crawford, Jr., president and CEO of Private Bank of Buckhead, has been appointed to the city of Atlanta Board of Ethics.

The Board of Ethics is an independent, citizen-appointed board that works to ensure honesty, openness and integrity in city government by enforcing the city’s ethical standards of conduct.

Crawford, who will serve a three-year term of office beginning in May, was nominated to the board by the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

“Though ethics have always been a crucial part of good business, there is a renewed interest in the topic in recent years,” Sam Williams, president of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce said. “Having a strong Ethics Board is part of an important system of checks and balances for the city of Atlanta. That’s why we felt it important to nominate a guy like Charlie Crawford. I am pleased his nomination was accepted and am sure he will serve the city admirably.”

Crawford has been in the banking industry since 1985 and began his career in New York with Bankers Trust Company. He has served as president of The Buckhead Bank, Milton National Bank and Riverside Bank of Buckhead. He also is president of the Buckhead Rotary Club.

“Having been part of the Atlanta community for 22 years, I am honored and humbled to be entrusted with the sensitive issues involving ethical matters,” Crawford said. “I’m all the more honored that a strong and well-respected citizen organization such as the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce saw fit to nominate me.”
