Reports dated through Sept. 20

The following information was provided to the Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Auto theft

3700 block of Roswell Road, 30342 – A woman reported Sept. 20 her silver 2008 Volvo Xc9 was stolen from a restaurant parking lot.

James Jackson Parkway, 30318 – A man reported Sept. 18 his black 1998 Isuzu Rodeo was stolen when he went into a gas station.

Pedestrian robbery

2700 block of Defoors Ferry Road, 30318 – A woman reported Sept. 14 two men forced her to the ground along with her daughter and stole their white 2000 Chevrolet van. The van was later recovered.

2000 block of Peachtree Road, 30309 – Two victims reported Sept. 20 they were near their apartment when two men approached, struck one of the victims in the head with the butt of a handgun, and fled after taking $15 and a Ruger handgun.

Residential robbery

600 block of Lindbergh Way, 30324 – Two men reported Sept. 17 that the front door of their residence was forced open, and other men entered and hit them in the head with handguns. The intruders ransacked the residence. One fled in a red Honda Accord with a Nevada license plate, and the other fled in a green four-door vehicle with North Carolina plates.

Commercial robbery

1200 block of Collier Road, 30318 – A man reported Sept. 15 two unknown men walked into Diligent Delivery Systems, pointed a gun at his face, threatened another employee, and took $932 and 44 checks from the cash box. A gold, two-door, older-model Chevrolet Impala was seen at the business.

Commercial burglary

1200 block of Old Chattahoochee Avenue, 30318 – A manager at Southern Preservation Systems reported Sept. 18 a lock at the business was cut, and 27 bags of cement were stolen. The manager told police 30 employees were laid off one month earlier, and five others were laid off two weeks before the break-in. Police suspect the burglary was committed by a former employee.

Aggravated assault

3300 block of Peachtree Road, 30326 – A man reported Sept. 16 he was in the Courtyard by Marriot hotel lobby and an unknown, intoxicated man approached him and wanted to shake his hand. When the victim refused, the perpetrator became irate, tackled him and caused a compound fracture to his leg.

700 block of Lakeshore Circle, 30324 – A victim reported Sept. 18 two men approached him as he was leaving Rollins Inc. and struck him in the back and face with a “sticklike object,” breaking his glasses. Nothing was stolen.

700 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard, 30342 – A victim reported Sept. 20 she was struck in the parking lot of QuikTrip by a black 2002 Honda S20. Darrin Drwal was arrested and charged with the crime.

3500 block of Piedmont Road, 30324 – A victim was shot at a motel Sept. 19. Antoine Burgess, 24, was arrested and charged with the crime. Leila Alayyah, 26, was arrested with him and charged with possession of cocaine.

Bellemeade Avenue and Tallulah Street, 30318 – A victim reported Sept. 18 he got into a dispute with his wife, and when he walked down the street to find her, a man pulled up in a black Dodge Magnum and punched him, bit him and swung a wooden board at him. The victim believed his wife was in the car.

4700 block of Noble Creek Drive, 30327 – A victim reported Sept. 19 he was working at an apartment complex when a man got out of a black Chevrolet Tahoe, pointed a gun at him and grabbed his neck. The perpetrator didn’t demand anything but fled the scene.

Residential burglary

3600 block of Castlegate Drive, 30327 – A woman reported Sept. 19 that an unknown person gained entry into her home and stole $8,000 in silverware from the living room and $6,000 worth of jewelry from the bathroom.

100 block of Noble Creek Drive, 30327 – A victim reported Sept. 14 he returned home to find his apartment ransacked. Police found damage to the door, but nothing was missing.
