A roundup of actions taken recently by Sandy Springs governmental bodies.

The Sandy Springs City Council took the following unanimous actions Dec. 9:

• Reappointed Eric Gregory and Andy Porter to the Design Review Board for four-year terms. Their original terms ended Dec. 1.

• Approved an ordinance requiring individuals, businesses and private contractors to obtain a permit before employing off-duty police officers to direct traffic.

• Approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Fulton County Board of Education to use Woodland Charter Elementary School for the youth basketball program that was displaced in September after the Hammond Park gym was converted to a gymnastics center.

• Approved rezoning of 208 Sandy Springs Place for the construction of a 24,611-square-foot retail and office building; 7355 and 7358 Roswell Road for the construction of an 11,800-square-foot CVS Pharmacy building; and 1140 and 1150 Hammond Drive for the development of 753,000 square feet of commercial and office space, a 160-room hotel, and 479 senior independent-living apartments.
