BBA moves quarterly luncheon to April 22

The date for the Buckhead Business Association’s quarterly luncheon meeting, featuring WSB-TV anchor Monica Pearson, has been changed from Thursday, April 9, to Wednesday, April 22, because of a conflict with spring break at many schools.

The event is still scheduled from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the 103 West special-event facility, 103 W. Paces Ferry Road, Buckhead.

Tickets are $50 for BBA members and $75 for others. Corporate tables, which seat eight, are $400 for members and $600 for nonmembers. Thorsten new sales VP at firstPRO Staffing

April Nagel, the president and CEO of firstPRO Staffing and Executive Search in Buckhead, announced that Jim Thorsten will serve as vice president of sales in the traditional staffing division.

Before joining firstPRO in 1988 as a branch manager, Thorsten worked for Westvaco Corp. in its sales and marketing group. In his new position, Thorsten will supervise the day-to-day operations of the department and work with employers to build and manage an effective and profitable work force.

Zoe’s Kitchen opens at Peachtree Battle

Zoe’s Kitchen, a quick-casual restaurant that combines the speed of fast-food outlets with the higher quality of casual sit-down restaurants, opened March 31 in the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center, 2333 Peachtree Road NE.

The 2,100-square-foot restaurant, which anchors the south corner of the shopping center near Starbuck’s, has seating inside for 68 and outside for 30 and will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The manager of the first Zoe’s Kitchen in Atlanta is Ben Ray.

Zoe Cassimus started Zoe’s Kitchen in a 900-square-foot space in Homewood, Ala., in October 1995. It has grown to a chain of 20 restaurants across the Southeast, and she and her husband have plans for further expansion.
