Apostles Church of Sandy Springs will break ground on a 450-seat worship center and celebrate its 50th anniversary from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 12 at the church, 6025 Glenridge Drive.
“The church is experiencing great growth,” said its senior pastor, Paul Ferrarone, “and the need to update and modernize our facilities is here.” The new worship center will include state-of-the-art sound and lighting and high-definition video.
The festivities will include music and other entertainment and a barbecue dinner.
As it marks its golden anniversary, “the church is a very different church than just a few years ago,” Ferrarone said. “We are reaching out into the community more, becoming very active in service projects that bring people together and meet some urgent needs of folks in our community. Our worship features some of the best live Christian music in the city of Atlanta, and young families with children and teenagers are coming to church for the first time in their lives.”
