Debbie Goldman has been named the new chairperson of the Sandy Springs/Perimeter Chamber of Commerce (SS/PC), succeeding Wanda Buckley, who recently was remarried and wanted to spend more time with her new husband.

Goldman, who was chair-elect and would have become SS/PC chair in 2010, was chair of the organization’s successful Business Expo earlier this year. Her parent company is Furniture Concept Services, through which Goldman owned and operated the Norwalk furniture store in the Perimeter area for three years. She closed that store earlier this year.

Previously, Goldman was with Arthur Andersen for 12 years and managed a law firm’s office for 10 years.

Goldman said SS/PC is currently looking at forming an alliance with Georgia State University and is working on an international business initiative to bring more international companies to Sandy Springs. She also plans to push initiatives to get more of the chamber’s membership more involved in committee activities.

In addition to the chamber’s board, she is on the executive board of ARTSS (Art Sandy Springs) and on the board of the Sandy Springs Society. She also is on the board of Atlanta Legal Administrators.

Goldman is married and has three grown children and two grandchildren.
