We’ve had a number of folks contact INtown about where to recycle magazines, including glossies like Vanity Fair, Time, etc. One option is donate those magazines to schools for art projects or to your doctor’s office for the waiting room. If you want to get rid of them, Keep Atlanta Beautiful says magazines can be recycled at the curb and mixed with any paper recycling service you receive in the workplace. If that’s not an option, the DeKalb Farmers’ Market at 3000 E. Ponce de Leon in Decatur has recycling available for newspapers and magazines (depending on quantity). For recycling information visit www.keepatlantabeautiful.org.

  1. Just a thought, many people in the city are into DIY arts and crafts and could use a lot of those magazines for their projects. I do zines and am always looking for old glossy magazines with bright pictures and colorful photos to use in my projects. If anyone is still looking to donate I know plenty of other zinesters who would take them off your hands:

  3. Bring your magazines to the Attic Treasures Thrift Shop across from the Chamblee Post office – Broad Street in Chamblee’s Antique Row district. Thrift Shops resell magazines. Recycling & thinking green! While you are at it, bring gently used clothing and household items and donate them as well. Then shop for new treasures at the Attic Treasures Thrift Shop.
