Radio City Christmas Spectacular
It’s time to kick, stretch and kick as The Rockettes high step into the Fox Theater for the annual holiday show. Get a taste of Christmas in New York without leaving Atlanta as the show opens on Nov. 19. Tickets range in price from $65.50 to $25.50 depending on seat selection. www.foxtheatre.org.

Fantasy In Lights
If you’re looking for a weekend getaway, check out Callaway Gardens’ annual Fantasy In Lights, which begins Nov. 20.  Stop by the Christmas Village for a warm cup of cocoa before piling into your car to slowly drive past the massive Christmas lighting displays. Tickets are $25; $12.50 for children. www.CallawayGardens.com.

Holidays in the Garden
The Atlanta Botanical Garden begins its festivities this month with a Holiday Train Show on Nov. 3. Other festivities throughout the month include $2 rides around the Great Lawn on the Botanical Express, and a special Pre-Holiday Pampering Sale offering 10 percent off on bath and body products in the gift shop on Nov. 14 and 15.  The gardens will also put on a Holiday Puppet Show for children, Santa’s Missing Mail, starting on Nov. 28, at 10:30 a.m. www.AtlantaBotanicalGarden.org.

Lighting of the Great Tree at Macy’s
This annual tradition began downtown at the old Rich’s Department store, but has now become a Thanksgiving night tradition. The giant tree perched atop the Macy’s building at Lenox Square will be lit with plenty of music and entertainment beforehand. Pre-show festivities begin about 6:30 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to take MARTA to Lenox. www.simon.com.

Stone Mountain Christmas
Beginning Nov. 14, Stone Mountain Park will begin its Christmas celebrations, featuring a special holiday laser show, screenings of The Polar Express in 4D, visits with Santa Claus, and loads of live entertainment and shows. The park will offer new food options and holiday shopping in addition to all of its permanent fixtures. www.StoneMountainPark.com.

Dad’s Garage
Looking for laughs this season?  Dad’s Garage Comedy Improv theatre is bringing back, “Invasion: Christmas Carol”, where a production of the classic Dickens’ tale is hijacked by a mystery guest, and even the actors don’t know what he, she or it will do and say.  Performances will begin on Nov. 27 and continue through December. www.dadsgarage.com.

The Lighting of Atlantic Station

The annual lighting of the live/work/play mecca will take place Saturday, Nov. 21, with family-friendly activities from 2 to 8 p.m.  including musical performances, street performers, children’s activities with Radio Disney, Kid’s Crafts, the Steel Mill Express miniature train rides, horse and carriage rides, It’s Snowing in the Station in Central Park, an open air market and, of course Santa Claus.
