Due to the growing number of vacant properties in Sandy Springs, the use of single-family homes for illegal party rentals is increasing.
Those unlawful shin-digs in vacant dwellings contribute to unreasonable noise levels, disturbances and parking problems in city neighborhoods. Recent violations include selling alcohol without a license and operating a commercial use in a residential area.
Such activities violate existing codes and can be enforced. Officers have the authority to issue citations of up to $1,000 per violation and will address property complaints by enforcing noise, party and parking regulations, as well as pursuing nuisance violations.
For more information or to view the codes online, visit www.sandyspringsga.org or call (770) 730-5600.
