North Springs Charter High School students Kenesha Mars and Charles Ekpe, with the help of Sandy Springs Police Lt. David Roskin have launched “Shop with a Spartan,” which hopes to raise holiday cheer to underprivileged kids.

The goal is to raise $3,000 to take 30 economically disadvantaged children from Ison Springs Elementary School on a special shopping trip on Dec. 12. The kids must spend at least half of their $100 on other family members for holiday gifts.

Students raised money though Team 5; five students who tried to raise $100 per team by selling “giving trees” (Georgia-grown Fraser Fir trees ) through Nov. 24 and sponsoring a dance on Dec. 4. The Bank of North Georgia, the American Law Enforcement Network and The Shield Foundation of Georgia also contributed to the cause.
