Remediation Group, Inc., a professional mold remediation company that has been working with metro Atlanta residents and businesses damaged by recent flooding, held a benefit holiday party in Brookhaven Dec. 3 and raised $4,300 to help Atlanta flood victims.

The party, held at Village Place Brookhaven on Dresden Drive, featured a silent auction of items donated by local merchants. The proceeds of the auction, along with other contributions from those attending, benefitted the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta’s Disaster Relief Fund.

“In view of the devastating losses suffered by so many residents and small business owners in greater Atlanta, we decided that our holiday party would be the perfect opportunity to raise funds for the Disaster Relief Fund of United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta,” says Fred Rodriguez, owner of Remediation Group, which also has offices in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami.

The company was founded in 2003 and originally had its offices in Alpharetta. However, Rodriguez said most of their work was being done inside the Perimeter. The company moved its offices in 2007 to Howell Mill Road near I-75, close to some of areas in Atlanta most heavily affected by the September floods and November rains from Hurricane Ida.

“Right now, our technicians encounter families every day whose homes have been severely damaged or even declared a total loss,” Rodriguez said. “We want to show the Atlanta flood victims that we care. That’s why we hosted this holiday fundraiser.”
