On June 3, Atlanta partygoers will be treated to a unique new event, Cocktails for Cancer, to benefit Camp Sunshine’s year round programs for children with cancer and their families. The event will be hosted by Bert Weiss of Q100 Atlanta’s popular Bert Show and will feature mixologists from some of Atlanta’s best restaurants, pouring custom cocktails from 7 to 10 p.m., at the newly remodeled Compound.

Participating restaurants include 4th & Swift, Holman & Finch, Ecco, La Tavola Trattoria, Lime Taqueria, Leon’s Full Service, Strip, Goldfish, Taco Mac, and Straits. Attendees will be treated to a chance to try each cocktail, delicious hors d’oeuvres catered by Lime Taqueria, and they’ll receive one free raffle ticket with the entry fee of $75.

“We are thrilled to have Bert on board for this event,” says Eric Newberg, one of the planners behind Cocktails for Cancer. “Camp Sunshine is an important organization that improves the lives of children with cancer and their families all year long and we’re happy to support their work in any way,” he said.

Cocktails for Cancer also features some of the best liquors in the business who have donated their spirits as ingredients for the one-of-a-kind drinks that will be served.  Guests will vote on their favorite cocktail of the night; the winning bartender will receive a cash prize for his or her efforts! Live music from The REMakes, an REM cover band, will add extra fun to the evening.

Tickets are now available through the Camp Sunshine website, www.mycampsunshine.com, for $75 each; $50 of each ticket is tax deductible.
