The city of Sandy Springs ranked fourth on’s list of “Best Places to Live” in the “rich and single” category. The website says more than 35 percent of the city’s population is single and the median family income was $115,171 in 2009.

Sandy Springs was the highest ranked city in the South. Newport Beach, Calif. took number one on the same list.

The article says Sandy Springs’ three hospitals and Fortune 500 companies are a major draw, as well as the city’s location near the Chattahoochee River.
