Two people were wounded during a high-speed shooting on Ga. 400 in Sandy Springs.

Just before 5 a.m. on Aug. 10, three people were driving northbound on Ga. 400 in a gray 1999 Honda Odyssey when people in a white SUV began shooting at them, Sandy Springs Police spokesman Steve Rose said.

The incident happened near the Northridge exit on Ga. 400, he said.

Two of the three passengers, who said they were driving home from Club Peach on Buford Highway, received nonfatal gunshot wounds, Rose said. The two men injured are Roswell residents Juan Macedo, 33, and Molina Fernando, 23. One was shot in the face. The other was shot in the arm and the bullet lodged in his chest.

The third occupant, who was not injured, is Marietta resident Sandoval Vazquez, 34.

Rose said the victims could not identify the people who fired at them. “They say they don’t know who the people were,” Rose said.

Rose said the two victims were treated at North Fulton Regional Hospital. The victims had been released, Rose said at about 10 a.m. on Aug. 10, and were being questioned at Sandy Springs Police headquarters.

“We are still interviewing them,” Rose said. “There are still a lot of unanswered questions.”

Rose said anyone with any information about the incident should contact Detective Joe Williams at (770) 551-6937 or (770) 551-6900.
