Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta CEO Michael D. Wise has resigned, effective Aug. 31, the center announced Aug. 12.
Howard Hyman, past president of the center and vice chair of its governance board, will serve as interim CEO while the center searches for a permanent replacement for Wise, the center said in a statement.
Wise took over as CEO in April 2007, the center said. When he took the job, the center was having financial difficulties, the center said. He has been “instrumental” in moving the agency toward financial stability, the center’s press release said.
The Marcus center offers programs, events and services for members of metro Atlanta’s Jewish community. Its main campus, Zaban Park, is in Dunwoody.
