Volunteers Zack Freeman and Evan Robertson, from left, both sophomores at the Cottage School, participate in the Morgan Falls River Clean-up on Sept. 18. Georgia Power Co. and The Sandy Springs Conservancy hosted the event that drew about 140 volunteers and pulled hundreds of pounds of trash from the river. “It was a very successful cleanup,” said Linda Bain, executive director with the conservancy. She said the most unusual item found was a shoe with a tree growing in it.
