The NPU-C’s Northside Drive Improvement Committee and Peachtree Battle Alliance will sponsor a cleanup in all NPU-C neighborhoods on Saturday, Oct. 2.
The event will kick off at 9 a.m. at the Bobby Jones Golf Course Clubhouse with a discussion by Sally Bethea, director of the Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper organization, of challenges to creeks, including pollution, litter and debris and what residents can do to help. Coffee, juice and pastries will be served at the clubhouse, 384 Woodward Way in southwest Buckhead.
Following Bethea’s talk, residents of all ages are urged to join NPU-C neighbors for a morning of cleaning up the creeks and parks from 9:30 to 11:30.
In order to clean at a creek, volunteers are advised to have rubber boots or waders and rubber gloves.
