Fiction writer Randall Kenan kicks off the series with the Phillis Wheatley Reading, co-sponsored by Emory’s Dept. of African-American Studies, on Monday, October 18. Some of Kenan’s works include the novel A Visitation of Spirits, and his short story collection, Let the Dead Bury the Dead. A book signing will follow the reading and there will be a colloquium at 2-3 p.m. in the Kemp Malone Library.
Other presenters in the series include Richard Bausch on Nov. 15; Joseph Skibell on Feb. 7; Bobbie Ann Mason on March 16; and Beth Henley on April 13. Some readings feature colloquiums with the authors before or after, and nearly all feature book signings.
