The Buckhead Coalition is giving visitors and residents something to text about—a mobile information campaign for Buckhead, making it one of the first communities in the nation to employ text messaging coupled with mobile Web marketing technology.

“We wanted our visitors and residents to have instant access to comprehensive information about Buckhead, anytime, anywhere, at their convenience,” said Coalition President Sam Massell. “Everyone today has a mobile phone, and with the recent explosion in the use of text messaging and mobile Web, adopting a mobile strategy was a logical solution.”

The texting party receives detailed, useful information about Buckhead’s tourism, shopping, dining, transportation, recreation and history.

Here’s how it works: Text BUCKHEADINFO to 99699 and within seconds, you’ll receive a text message containing a link to the Buckhead TextSite ( Click on the link and learn everything you need to know about Buckhead.

The new TextSite works just like any website, and is viewable on any mobile phone or desktop computer with Internet access. Those requesting information via text-message do not pay any additional text message fees outside of their normal phone plan.

To promote the new program, the Buckhead Coalition will encourage visitors and residents to Text BUCKHEADINFO to 99699 through the use of traditional media such as radio spots, magazines, brochures and bus advertising.

Simultaneously with the launch of the Text BUCKHEADINFO to 99699 campaign, The Buckhead Coalition is announcing its own mobile text site.  If you want to learn more about the coalition , text  BUCKHEADCOALITION to 99699 or visit their TextSite at
