An ambulance, traveling with lights and siren activated north on Peachtree enroute to a call, was involved in an accident at the intersection of Peachtree and Paces Ferry roads at around 7 a.m. Nov. 18.

According to Atlanta Police spokesperson Curtis Davenport, the ambulance approached the intersection at East Paces Ferry Road and stopped for a red light and then proceeded slowly through intersection. A private vehicle headed west on E. Paces came through intersection and struck ambulance.

The driver of ambulance complained of an arm injury and the driver of the private vehicle complained of chest pains, according to Davenport. Both were transported to Grady Hospital  for a checkup.

Davenport reported that the driver of the private vehicle was charged with failure to yield for emergency vehicle.
