INtown High FiveThe holidays are bearing down with a vengeance now, so before you start stuffing your pie hole with turkey and dressing, here’s a few weekend activities worth your time. You can even do a little shopping while you’re at it.

1. Are you experienced? This year’s Indie Craft Experience – more commonly known as the  ICE Show – is Saturday and Sunday at Ambient + Studio, 585 Wells St. SW, and will feature 100 local artisans selling some hip gifts for the holiday season.

2.Let there be lights: Get in the festive spirit with the Lighting of Atlantic Station,  a day-long event on Saturday beginning at noon with events, music, the Holiday Artists Market and more leading up to the lighting of the big Christmas Tree in Central Park and a visit from Santa. Fun for the whole family!

3. Shop until you drop: Inman Park Cooperative Preschool’s annual Inman Park Holiday Sale & Auction is Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Trolley Barn on Edgewood Avenue. The event is part party, part fundraiser, part reunion, part shopping experience so bring your list and check it twice.

4. Shine a light: The beloved television special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer comes to life onstage at the Center for Puppetry Arts this weekend and continues through early January. Watch for our cover story on the show in the December issue of INtown.

5. Irish singing hunks alert: They make the ladies (and guys, too) swoon with their mix of traditional and pop hits all sung with a lilting Irish brogue (except that one Scottish guy). Yes, it’s Celtic Thunder and they are rumbling into the Fox Theatre on Saturday night. Seats are still available, but maybe not close enough to toss your bra. Unless you have a wicked arm.
