Two males attempted to rob a male around 11:30 p.m. Nov. 18 as the victim was walking south on Peachtree Road near Lenox Road, according to a report from Zone 2 Atlanta Police officers.
According to the report issued by APD spokesperson Sgt. Curtis Davenport, the two suspects were walking north near 3445 Peachtree Road, according to the victim, and one of the two suspects grabbed the victim’s jacket and said “come here.”
The same suspect, according to the police report, attempted to take the victim’s cell phone while the other “was standing lookout and keeping his hand in his waistband as if he had a weapon.”
The victim was able to free himself and call 911 as the two suspects fled, running east on Lenox Road.
Davenport’s report said that officers in the area noticed two black males in front of 3431 Lenox Road “sweating profusely and attempting to get into a white Dodge Neon, driven by a black female.” Both males and the female were detained at the scene and indentified. A loaded 9mm handgun was located in the front passenger seat of the vehicle, according to the police report.
As officers were in the process of identifying and questioning the two males and female, “the victim ran up to them and identified the two male suspects,” according to the report from Sgt. Davenport.
Two Zone 2 Criminal Investigation Division officers responded to the scene and questioned all parties involved in the incident.
The two males, identified as 20-year-old Landis Stewart-Moore and 21-year-old Marques E., Gaines, were charged with robbery (criminal attempt) and transported to Fulton County Jail. No charges were filed against the female.
