The DeKalb County school system is planning to hold two community meetings in December related to the search for a new superintendent.

The community meetings are planned at two locations; the first, Peachtree Middle School at 7 p.m., Dec. 7; the second, Columbia High School at 7 p.m., Dec. 9.

The Board of Education is seeking a permanent superintendent to replace Interim Superintendent Ramona Tyson. The board is conducting a national search for a new superintendent.

Former superintendent Crawford Lewis and three other in the district were indicted in the spring on criminal charges related to business dealings in the school system.
