Officers from the Sandy Springs Police Department’s South District visited the Ronald McDonald House on Dec. 22 to bring dinner and gifts to sick children and their families.
The house provides a home-away-from-home for families to stay close to their hospitalized children. Stays at the home are at little to no cost.
The houses are built on the simple idea that little else should matter to a family with a sick child. Not where they can stay or where they eat.
The event was organized by Officer Tim Burell, a South District community officer. Burell and other officers brought a catered dinner and three large bags of gifts for children.
