A statement from police quoted Sgt. Dan Nable as saying increased enforcement led to 14 arrests and 100 citations.

A 21-year-old Marietta woman died in a single-car accident about 4 a.m. Dec. 15 after she lost control of her car on Johnson Ferry between Riverside Drive and North Harbor Drive, police have said.

A 46-year-old Marietta woman died Dec. 20 after her car crossed the center line on Johnson Ferry and struck an oncoming SUV, police have said.

Both accidents involved speeding, Sandy Springs police said on the department’s website.
