As of Jan.1, Sandy Springs residents were required to comply with state rules that aim to cut down on residential water use.

The city’s general restriction is a window of 4 p.m. to 10 a.m. for watering lawns as well as other forms of residential irrigation.

The bill also provides for exemptions; including watering for all commercial agricultural operations, the capture and reuse of storm water, the reuse of gray water in compliance with state rules, drip irrigation and the irrigation of athletic fields and golf courses.
