The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
Northside Parkway @ W. Paces Road, NW – On Dec. 28, a robbery of a pedestrian in the street was reported. The suspect approached the victim who was at a bus stop waiting for the bus to go to work. The suspect brandished a revolver and demanded all of her valuables in her back pack. He stole her Gateway laptop, AT&T cell phone, gift cards, cash, gloves, a wallet and a US passport.
3700 block of Roswell Road, NE – A commercial robbery at a bank was reported on Dec. 30 at this location. The male suspect, 5’8″ – 5’9″ with tear drop tattoo on his right eye, presented a note demanding money or he will start shooting. The suspect left the location without any money. The incident was captured on camera.
3600 block of Piedmont Road, NE – On Dec. 29, a residential burglary with no signs of forced entry to an apartment was reported. Three $100 bills were stolen from dresser in a bedroom. There may have been video cameras in the elevator.
2100 block of Defoor Hills Road, NW – On Dec. 30, a commercial burglary was reported at an industrial site. The victim stated that $62,500 worth of clothing and jewelry was taken from the location while filming a video.
2400 block of Claude Street, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Dec. 28 at this location. The victim stated that he returned home and discovered he had damage to his dog door. Someone had placed his laptop inside a suitcase in his bedroom. Nothing was taken.
1500 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A commercial burglary at this location was reported on Dec. 26. The business’ front glass door pane was broken out with a concrete rock. A passerby noticed it and called 911. The owners showed up and said no money was taken, just coins scattered.
3200 block of Lenox Road, NE – On Jan. 1, a residential burglary at an apartment was reported. The victim stated that she went to work on Dec. 31 and when she returned on Jan. 1, she was advised by her roommate that the rear patio door was open and her laptop computer and desktop computer had been stolen.
3100 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on Jan. 1 at this location. An officer responded to a call at a specialty store, and noted that the perpetrators used a stolen 2003 Jeep Liberty to smash through a side window and gate of the business. Upon the arrival of the key holder, it was discovered that no items were stolen. Damages included the side window, gate, shelving and four flat screen televisions. The vehicle was later recovered.
3600 block of Northside Drive, NW – A residential burglary, with no signs of forced entry, was reported on Dec. 30. The victim left his garage open and stated that he checked his wooden storage unit and his leaf blower made by Stihl was missing.
3600 block of Habersham Road, NE – Larceny was reported on Dec. 29 at this location. The victim stated she ordered merchandise that was delivered via UPS and left outside the front door. When she arrived home the merchandise was missing from the location where UPS left it. This is the second theft incident at this location.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – On Dec. 27, a larceny was reported. The victim lost her wallet in a parking garage. It was found within hours, but her credit cards were used at the Apple store in Lenox Square and at Target located in the 3500 block of Peachtree Rd. Laptops, iPads, and iPods were purchased as well as possible items at Target.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – On Jan. 1, larceny from a hotel was reported. The victim said she was staying at a hotel and placed her jewelry on the dresser. In the morning she discovered that items totaling $31,000 were missing. The only people in the room were her, her husband, a friend and two room service individuals.
2900 block of Peachtree Road, NE – On Dec. 28, a woman said she left her purse and its contents on the sink at a restaurant. She said that when she returned to the bathroom to get her purse, it was gone. Someone stole the purse and used the credit cards at stores in the area. No suspects.
3700 block of Roswell Road, NE – An attempted larceny from a bank was reported on Dec. 28. An employee of a bank assisted a man who came into the bank to try and cash a fraudulent check. When the employee called the check owner, the suspect left. The employee was unable to give a direction of travel, but the suspect did leave behind an identification card along with the fraudulent check.
3100 block of Peachtree Road, NE – On Dec. 30, larceny was reported at this location by two individuals. Victim 1 said she put her purse on the floor at a bar. When she went to retrieve her purse, she realized someone had taken it. Victim 2 lost her iPhone when she ran out of the bar following victim 1 during an altercation with security.
3100 block of Peachtree Road, NE – Larceny was reported from a bar on Jan. 1. The victim stated that she left her purse, jacket and shoe in the booth and went up to the bar. When she returned about 10 minutes later, her purse was missing.
3300 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny was reported at this location on Dec. 31. The suspect entered the grocery store and selected five bottles of wine, then left without paying. The suspect jumped into a 1995 Acura and sped off.
Roswell Rd NE @ Andrews Dr, NW – On Dec. 28, a larceny report was filed at this location. The victim reported that his taxi permit had been stolen. He stated that two males got into his taxi and told him to start the meter. He told them to get out of the vehicle. One of the males got out and one stayed. Afterwards, one of them reached and took the permit from the dash. The suspect who stole the permit was short and stocky with brown hair.
3000 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial business reported a larceny on Dec. 26. The
suspects concealed three cases of beer then exited the gas station without paying. They got into a small pick-up truck. As the vehicle was exiting the property, the employee of the business tried to remove the beer from the open bed of the pick-up and was able to recover one case that fell on the ground. The vehicle headed south on Piedmont Road. The employee was unable to get a plate number.
2400 block of Defoors Ferry Road, NW – A larceny at a school was reported on Dec. 26.
The victim said an air conditioning unit was removed from the outside of the location.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – On Dec. 26, a specialty store reported a larceny.
The suspect/arrestee was inside the store and concealed eyeliner, shower gel and a candy bar on her person and passed all points of sale without paying. She was detained by Loss Prevention. The merchandise was recovered.
1400 block of Ellsworth Industrial Blvd, NW – A commercial business reported a larceny on Dec. 30. The victim stated that two cases of chicken were found in the back of an employee’s vehicle. When questioned about the chicken, the employee stated he wasn’t aware of the merchandise being there. The employee left location before police arrived.
3400 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial business reported a larceny on Dec. 31.
The reporting person stated that 10 laptop computers were stolen. There was no forced entry.
3400 block of Alexander Road, NE – Larceny from a parking lot/garage was reported on Dec. 29. The victim stated he got a call from his roommate who said a witness saw a suspicious vehicle with two people inside. The witness stated he pulled into the parking deck, and when he went to park in his parking spot there was a vehicle in his spot, so he drove by and when he turned around and came back, the vehicle was gone. The victim’s driver side front and rear lug nuts had been removed and were lying on the ground.
Larceny from Vehicle
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – Larceny from a vehicle was reported on Dec. 31. The victim stated that she had her 2010 Land Rover valet parked on that day. When she drove home later she noticed that her daughter’s Apple iPad had been stolen off the backseat of her vehicle. There were no signs of force. Valet had parked her vehicle across from the restaurant’s front door on the sidewalk.
Peachtree@Roxboro Road, NE – On Dec. 30, larceny from a vehicle was reported. The victim was at a gas station putting air in her tire. One car door was open. One of the suspects bumped her car, reached in and stole her purse. A witness followed the suspects into Zone 5. They were apprehended by a Zone 5 officer.
700 block of Morosgo Drive, NE – Larceny from a vehicle was reported on Dec. 29 at this location. The victim stated she parked her vehicle in the parking lot of the US Post Office and went inside. The victim said she observed a red vehicle parked next to hers, and when she returned to her vehicle she noticed that the driver’s side window of her vehicle had been broken out. A book bag was taken along with a cell phone.
2000 block of Peachtree Road, NE – Larceny from a vehicle in a parking lot was reported on Dec. 28. The reporting person has a 2009 silver Honda Civic, and was parked at this location for about 10 minutes. When the owner returned he discovered the passenger window had been broken. Stolen from the car was a backpack containing boxing gloves.
100 block of Roanoke Ave, NE – On Dec. 30, larceny from a vehicle at a residence was reported.
Entry was made into a 2008 black Chevrolet Tahoe and a 2006 gray Honda Accord. There were no signs of forced entry. Leather gloves, vodka and an Apple iPod were stolen.
1000 block of Dawn View Ln, NW – Larceny from a vehicle at a residence was reported on Dec. 31. The victim was from out of town visiting and was going skeet shooting with his son. He left his car unlocked and he had his 12-gauge shot gun inside. His CB and Benelli shotgun are missing.
700 block of Lindbergh Drive, NE – An auto theft from a parking garage was reported at this location on Dec. 31. The victim’s 2002 white Chevy Suburban, Ga. Tag Za310, was taken. The location has cameras at the front gate. No other information from the victim who was extremely intoxicated.
2100 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A business reported an auto theft on Dec. 31. The vehicle was returned after business hours and keys were deposited in the drop box. The U-Haul employee did inventory and the vehicle is missing.
1500 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A case of auto theft was reported by a business on Dec. 30. The victim rented the vehicle to the suspect who has not returned it and the account is more than $400 past due. There has been a warrant taken out for the suspect’s arrest.
1800 block of Peachtree Road, NW – On Dec. 29, an auto theft was reported at a service station at this location. The reporting party left the keys to his company truck in the ignition while he went to pay for gas. The vehicle is a white 2009 Ford Ranger.
3000 block of Peachtree Road, NW – On Dec. 26, aggravated assault was reported at an apartment complex. The victim stated his girlfriend attacked him because she was upset when the victim inquired as to why he did not receive a Christmas gift. The victim stated he was struck several times and choked by the suspect which left a visible cut to his left eye. The suspect was not on scene when the officer arrived and the victim refused medical treatment.
300 block of Pharr Road, NE – On Jan. 1, aggravated assault was reported at a parking lot/garage. The victim stated he was parking his vehicle when another vehicle pulled up and a man with a bat got out and started smashing the windows of the victim’s car. A second passenger got out with a gun. The victim got into his vehicle and drove off.
Huff Road & Marietta Blvd, NW – On Jan. 1, an aggravated assault was reported. The victim said she had been into a physical altercation with her ex-boyfriend at a night club. The woman said the ex-boyfriend began punching her after he accused her of talking to another guy in the club. She stated she got into her vehicle and fled the scene. She sustained severe bruises and abrasions to her lower lip, forehead and face. She refused to press charges.
2200 block of Main Street, NW – An aggravated assault report was filed on Dec. 26 at a residence. The victim was attacked by a man she is living with and upon arrival of the responding officer, the suspect was gone. The victim did not give a description of the suspect’s vehicle due to the fact she did not want him arrested, but just needs documentation of the incident to support the eviction process. The victim was bleeding in various locations of her body but refused medical attention.
