This may be the best excuse to ignore those diet-related New Year’s resolutions. The eighth annual Taste of Dunwoody offers an evening of food and wines, guiltlessly served in the name of a worthy cause.

The Feb. 4 event at the W Atlanta Perimeter raises funds for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. From 7 to 10:30 p.m., guests will sample the culinary talents of more than 30 of the area’s top restaurants – and a few from beyond its boundaries.

The event promises delicacies created by the experts from Wildfire, Seasons 52, Sweet Tomatoes, New York Butcher Shop, Figo Pasta, Eclipse di Luna, Aqua Blue, Peter’s, the Flying Biscuit and GiGi’s Cupcakes, to name a few.

Also serving up some of their guests’ favorite tidbits is Kenneth Bills, chef and partner at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar.

“We are excited to be participating this year,” Bills said. “We love getting involved in our community, and this event gives us a great opportunity to do that for an important cause.”

In between the food courses, guests will enjoy live music and a silent auction. In the last few years, proceeds from the auction, along with ticket sales, have garnered thousands for the pediatric hospital.

“The Taste of Dunwoody is a successful fundraiser generating over $30,000 annually for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta,” said CHOA Foundation Program coordinator Julianna Rue. “This year’s funds will benefit the Sibley Heart Center at Children’s.”

The event is organized by CHOA’s Friends of Dunwoody, a locally-based group that supports the work of the hospital.

Admission to the Taste is $50. This year, a $70 VIP ticket includes two complimentary drinks.
