The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
First block of Ivy Trail, NE – On Jan. 11, an aggravated assault at a residence was reported. The family got into an argument and one of the daughters grabbed a knife and a struggle began. All individuals were arrested.
100 block of E Andrews Drive, NW – On the evening of Jan. 15, an aggravated assault was reported at a night club. The victim said that he and two friends were arguing and fighting with another group of people when he was struck in the head with a beer bottle, causing a large laceration to his head. The other victim said when he attempted to help his friend he was also struck in the face.
100 block of Peachtree Way, NE – On Jan. 9, aggravated assault was reported at this location. The victim stated that she was dragged by a vehicle that her ex-boyfriend was driving. The victim said that she and the ex-boyfriend were involved in an argument while inside of the vehicle, and that as she was getting out of the vehicle the driver sped off, dragging her. The victim refused medical treatment.
3700 block of Roswell Road, NE – On Jan. 10, a commercial burglary was reported at a drug store. The suspects attempted to steal the ATM at the location and flee with it. The suspects were not able to get the ATM and fled.
2500 block of Bolton Road, NW – A commercial burglary at a discount store was reported on Jan. 10. An officer was sent and upon his arrival, he saw the front door ajar, with the glass shattered. An employee reviewed a surveillance videotape and spotted a man taking soap and deodorant.
2100 block of Adams Overlook, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Jan. 14. The victim stated that he came by the listed residence (vacant and for sale) to check on the property. He then found the appliances missing (stainless steel range/oven, washer, dryer). The next door neighbor said on Dec. 31, a man backed his vehicle up to the garage, told her that he was there to pick up the appliances, and entered the residence. There was no forced entry.
1200 block of Logan Cir, NW – On Jan. 11, a commercial burglary was reported at this location. The business had its front door broken out with rock; a suspect was located inside and arrested.
2200 block of Main Street, NW – A residential burglary was reported on the evening of Jan. 14. A person was spotted removing several appliances from the location and placing them on the back of a truck. The owner stated he never gave the person permission to remove the items. The man later said he was going to sell the items for money.
3400 block of Stratford Road, NE – A residential burglary at an apartment was reported on Jan. 11. The victim advised between Jan. 5-8, someone broke into his storage unit and stole a bicycle and golf clubs; the victim reported the door was locked. However, no forced entry was noted.
2500 block of Bolton Road, NW – A commercial burglary at a discount store was reported on Jan. 13. Officers responded to an alarm and found the front door smashed and the business burglarized. Officers cleared the business. No suspects were found. Upon review of material from a surveillance camera , it appeared two suspects entered the store and stayed 2 to 3 minutes, then left with merchandise in hand. Items taken were minor electronics, valued at about $300.00.
2400 block of Parkland Drive, NE – A residential burglary at an apartment was reported on Jan. 14. The victim returned home and discovered that his door has been kicked in and his Mac laptop Mac and iPad were stolen. The television had been moved, so fingerprints were taken from it.
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported at a department store on Jan. 9. Three suspects shoplifted $2,410 worth of jeans. An officer confronted one suspect and he ran. He was apprehended and taken back to the store’s security office. Handcuffed, he escaped from the security office, but was apprehended while hiding in some woods behind the 3300 block of Peachtree Road. He struggled with police during his second arrest and received some cuts on his lip and wrist. The stolen clothing was recovered.
600 block of Lindbergh Drive, NE – On Jan. 11, a convenience store reported a larceny. The suspect walked into the gas station, grabbed two 12-packs of Corona beer and left without paying. The clerk said the suspect left in a white Ford Explorer with tag number AVH-6526.
First block of Paces Ferry Road, NW – On Jan. 14, a larceny was reported at a hotel. The victim said he discovered his items were stolen from his locker while he was at work. The victim recovered his pants from a trash can down the street.
100 block of Pharr Road, NW – A larceny was reported at an apartment on Jan. 11. The woman said she allowed two male friends to stay the night during the ice storm. She advised that when the two left, she noticed her wallet missing.
3100 block of Roswell Road, NE – On Jan. 15, larceny was reported at a parking lot/garage. The victim said he received a ride from a woman and was offered a sexual favor for money. He declined. The victim said he asked to return to the location where he had been picked up, and, when he was returned, the woman took his wallet and ordered him to get out. Eventually, he got out of the vehicle, which drove off.
300 block of Pharr Road, NW – Larceny was reported at service/gas station on Jan. 9. The victim got a ride with a woman in a red car and stopped to buy gas in the 300 block of Pharr Road. The victim was then driven home by the woman and learned the next day that his ATM card was gone, as was $773.81 from his bank account.
1100 block of Moores Mill Road, NW – A woman reported a larceny at a gym on Jan. 9. The woman left her Apple iPhone on the Stairmaster machine at the gym. The victim left, then realized that she had forgotten her phone, and upon returning, it was gone. She tracked her phone on a tracking pad which showed her phone heading south on I-75/85 near Metropolitan Pkwy. CID was notified.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – On Jan. 13, larceny was reported by a discount store. Officers responded to a shoplifting call. Store security officers said the two suspects were caught on store video concealing a screw driver, a pack of Pampers and a pack of Stayfree pads .
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – On the evening of Jan. 9, larceny was reported at a department store. The victim advised she left her purse under the sales desk at the store. When she went back to get her purse it was missing and her credit card had been used.
Larceny from Vehicle
3400 block of Alexander Road, NE – On Jan. 13, a larceny from an auto was reported at an apartment. A man said he parked his vehicle, a 2006 Lexus Gs300, at his apartment. Upon his return, he saw his vehicle was sitting on blocks and the tires and rims were missing. There was a small dent on the front passenger door.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto at a parking lot/garage on Dec. 21 was reported on Jan. 11. The victim advised his vehicle was parked in a valet lot and items were removed from his vehicle. The victim advised he contacted the police at such a late date because his insurance company said he would need a police report.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – On Jan. 13, a larceny from an auto was reported at a parking lot/ garage. The victim stated to police that he parked his vehicle, and upon his return, he discovered that the driver’s door had been punched and his bag containing fly fishing gear was missing. The victim also said his wife’s vehicle that was parked next to his was damaged by having the lock punched.
1500 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from an auto in a parking garage was reported on Jan. 12, 10 days after the incident. A woman said she parked at the location and when she returned her bag was missing from the interior. She said she did not call the police initially because she needed to catch a flight.
1600 block of Northside Drive, NW – On Jan. 10, a larceny from an auto in a parking garage was reported. The victim said she was parked at the listed location when her vehicle was entered and items removed from the interior. The victim stated that her and her family’s passports and visas were among the items stolen.
1900 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto in a business’ parking lot was reported on Jan. 15. The driver’s door window was broken and a bag containing a laptop, purse and some art supplies were taken.
200 block of Pharr Road, NE – On Jan. 13, a larceny from an auto in a parking garage was reported. The reporting person stated to police that he parked his boss’ vehicle in the parking deck of the condo complex. Upon his return, he saw the driver’s side door handle and lock were damaged. The vehicle is a Ford F15 truck. A silver Smith & Wesson .357 magnum pistol was taken along with $20 and a black ammo pouch.
Peachtree Rd/ Piedmont Road, NE – On Jan. 13, larceny from an auto in a parking garage was reported. The victim came to the Zone 2 Precinct to report that his vehicle had been broken into at a gym at the listed location. He parked his vehicle for about an hour, and when he returned, he saw a hole in the driver’s side door. He said several items were stolen: one semi-automatic rifle, one set of Nikio binoculars and one green, camel backpack.
3400 block of Kingsboro Road, NE – An auto theft from a parking lot/garage was reported on Jan. 9. The victim reported that her black, 1999 Lexus 300, with Ga. tag 542-RZT, was stolen from the location over night.
100 block of 26th Street, NW – An auto theft from a parking lot/garage was reported on Jan. 13. The victim stated that she had her vehicle parked in the parking lot running after she left the vehicle to warm up. When she returned to the parking lot, her vehicle was gone. Officers located the vehicle outside the apartment complex. The vehicle appeared to have been rummaged through; the keys were missing.
