Atlanta Police Zone 2 officers responded to a 911 report of a home invasion in the 3000 block of Rilman Road in Buckhead on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 3:15 p.m. where they found a resident bound and gagged and silver items reportedly missing.
The incident took place in a neighborhood of multi-million-dollar homes just off West Paces Ferry Road near Paces Academy and not far from the Governor’s Mansion.
Police spokesperson Officer Kimberly Maggart said police officers found the resident of the home gagged with a sock in his mouth and with his hands and feet bound with a zip tie. His thighs were taped shut with duct tape. The victim was not injured however.
Sunday morning TV news reports indicated the resident of the house returned home and discovered the suspect who according to the police report was armed with a pistol, was wearing a black mask, black gloves and brown leather shoes.
The report said he suspect left the home with silver items from the scene in a dark blue-and-green duffel bag. The silver items apparently were all that was taken during the incident.
As of midday on Feb. 6 no suspect(s) were in custody, according to Maggart.
