The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Larceny

3400 block of Buckhead Loop, NE – On Jan. 18, a larceny was reported at a specialty store. The                

reporting party said two females entered the store and took multiple straightening irons and left without purchasing them.

3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Jan. 18 at a parking lot

/garage.  A security guard witnessed a 2004 tan Buick run through the gate without paying.  The security guard stated that the gate was broken. The   tag number on the car was  BPW-3204.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – On the evening of Jan. 19, a larceny was reported at a department store.  The accused concealed a Polo children’s dress valued at $150 in her bag and left the store without paying. The item was recovered by the store.

2500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – On Jan. 16, a larceny was reported at a specialty store.

The victim washed her hands at the store and removed the ring from her hand while washing, then walked out of the bathroom before she realized she did not put it back on. She went back in and discovered that the ring was gone and a young  female was in there. She asked if the girl had seen the ring; she said no and fled quickly the scene.

3000 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny was reported on Jan. 22 by a restaurant. The

suspect came into the location, then ordered and consumed drinks without paying.

3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – On Jan. 16, a larceny from a hotel was reported. The

victim stated friends were at his hotel room and after waking up several items were missing.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny was reported at a specialty store on Jan. 19.

Three women entered the business and concealed items on their persons. One of the suspects distracted the clerk while another set off the store alarm.  All three left the business and departed in a black Dodge Charger.

1700 block of Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard, NW – On Jan. 22, a business reported a larceny. The suspect worked at this location and was caught on camera taking cash out of the register.  The suspect was not on the scene when the police arrived.

3700 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny at a restaurant was reported on Jan. 24. The victim

said she placed her cell phone down on a table inside the restaurant, and it was picked up by a man. The victim called the cell phone and the man said he would mail it back to her, but she has not received the cell phone as of yet.

3300 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny at a commercial building was reported on Jan. 26.  The  victim stated that man was in her office. He said he worked with the company that had replaced the carpet weeks before and was looking for his keys. He asked the victim for some coffee, which she got for him. He was gone when she returned. She checked her purse immediately to find her wallet missing. Her credit card was used shortly after.

1100 block of Biscayne Drive, NW – On Jan. 26, a larceny was reported at an apartment complex. The victim needed his computer’s hard drive fixed. His neighbor presented himself as a computer technician.  The neighbor quoted him a price and he declined. The neighbor returned the computer.  When the victim turned his computer on, the hard drive was not connected.  He took it apart and there was an old hard drive that did not match his computer.  When he hooked it up to another source, the neighbor’s files were on the hard drive.

400 block of W. Paces Ferry Road, NW – On Jan. 28, a larceny was reported at a residence at this location.     The victim stated that she placed her video camera on top of her mailbox to record traffic footage. When she returned to the mailbox she saw that the video camera was gone from the mailbox.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A discount store reported a larceny on Jan. 24. Drugs were missing from the safe inside the pharmacy. The drugs came up missing during an inventory  on Jan. 4, 2011. Drugs that are missing are Morphine, Demerol, Delodin and Oxycotton.

1200 block of Chattahoochee Ave, NW – A larceny at a commercial building was reported on Jan. 29.  The victim participated in a trade show and left his iPad on display. When the trade show was over, he realized his iPad had been stolen.

Larceny from Vehicle

4200 block of Roswell Road, NE – In the evening of Jan. 18, a larceny from an auto in a parking lot/garage was reported.  The victim said she parked her vehicle at the listed location with her purse on the front seat and her child in the back seat. The victim’s son advised that the suspect opened the door and said, “What’s up, buddy,” took the purse and left.

2200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from autos in a parking lot/garage was reported on Jan. 18. The victims advised they parked at the listed location and when they returned to their vehicles, a window was damaged and bags were                      removed from the interiors.  Both parties advised that the items taken were in plain view.

4200 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny from an auto at a restaurant was reported on Jan. 23. The victim was at the restaurant and observed a black Chrysler Minivan pull in front of his truck.  A man exited and jimmied the driver’s side door handle, then snatched some items. The victim ran out and grabbed the steering wheel of the suspect’s vehicle and grabbed the driver’s face.  The driver backed the van and rammed the front bumper of the victim’s truck.  The victim let go and the suspects fled by vehicle. A Nikon camera and a Dell laptop were stolen.

400 block of Armour Drive, NE – A larceny from an auto in a parking garage was reported on Jan. 24.  The victim stated that after returning to his vehicle he noticed that all four wheels were missing and his vehicle was sitting on bricks. No other                    damage.

Auto Theft

600 block of Morosgo Drive, NE – On Jan. 18, an auto theft was reported from a convenience store. The victim left her 2006 Nissan Altima, (tag BLT-8096) running with the keys in it.  She stated when she came out the store, she saw a man jump into her car and drive off.

2100 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A business reported an auto theft on Jan. 20. The suspect failed to return a 2010 Dodge Charger on the due date and did not answer a demand letter or phone calls.  The victim stated that they had filed a warrant application with the Fulton County Court.  The reporting person indicated that they did speak with the suspect and she told him she had loaned the car to someone else.

1100 block of Collier Road, NW – On Jan. 19, an auto theft was reported from a parking lot/garage.  The reporting person said she was looking out of her window when she witnessed three men in a green Suburban attempt to steal a white Dodge Caravan.  She advised that the suspects backed the vehicle into a tree and fled the scene.  There was damage                   to the right door lock and steering column.

3900 block of Club Drive, NE – An auto theft was reported at this location on Jan. 29. The reporting person stated that he had the suspect, a homeless handyman he known for 20 years, wash his vehicle.  When the victim went to drive the car he could not find the vehicle. The vehicle has 309 in white numbers on the right front windshield.

900 block of Kipling Drive, NW – On Jan. 24, an auto theft was reported from this location. The victim reported a Suzuki 4×4 with a camouflage wrap on the exterior panels was stolen from his driveway.  The vehicle did not have the keys in it, but could be placed in neutral to become mobile.

Burglary

200 block of Parkland Drive, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Jan. 22 at this location. The victim left her apartment door unlocked and her car keys on her counter while she took a shower. The victim later went to get her car keys and noticed that they had disappeared.  The victim then went out to the parking deck and found her husband’s 2006 Lexus 350 gone from the deck.

3100 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on the evening of Jan. 18 at this location. The business was broken into through the bathroom wall of the company next door. The business next door was vacant.  No items were listed as missing.

50 block of Pharr Road, NW – On Jan. 20, a residential burglary was reported at an apartment complex. The victim left his apartment and returned shortly after to find his door kicked in and jewelry, a combination safe containing currency and a Dell computer monitor taken. No alarm system at the location.

2400 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported at this location on Jan. 18. Police responded to a call on an unoccupied home, and it was discovered that the refrigerator and the range/stove had been taken out of the residence. There was no alarm on the home and no video surveillance on the property. A side window of the residence was found

partially open.

1100 block of Liberty Pkwy, NW – A residential burglary was reported at this location on Jan. 16. The victim came home and found the garage door handle on the ground and the front door unlocked. The rear door had been kicked in. Electronic equipment was taken. The alarm system had not been armed. 

1400 block of Mecaslin Street, NW – On Jan. 19, a residential burglary was reported at this location. The victim had left the residence with his wife still at home. The suspect kicked in the door and set off the alarm. The wife wears hearing aids and did not have them in. The suspect fled without taking anything.

2300 block of Hanover West Lane, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Jan. 29.  The house is for sale, and police were contacted by a real estate agent.  The front door was broken and a 55-inch television was removed from the wall.  The door was replaced prior to police arrival.

2400 block of Claude Street, NW – On the evening of Jan. 27, a residential burglary was reported. The victim stated that after he returned home he found that his doggie door had been kicked in and several items were missing from his home.

Robbery

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – On Jan. 19, a commercial robbery was reported at a financial institution. The suspect came in, presented a note to the teller saying it was a robbery,  and fled with some money.

4600 block of Peachtree Park Drive, NE – On the morning of Jan. 19, a residential robbery was reported. The victim told police she was awakened from her sleep by a man dressed in black and wearing a black mask over his face. The man said he had a gun and forced the victim to pleasure him. The victim and her roommate stated that both of their laptop computers were missing from their apartment after the man left.

Assault

2900 block of Lenox Road, NE – On Jan. 17, aggravated assault was reported at a residence. The victim stated that she entered her boyfriend’s condo to speak with him, when he pushed her head down and slammed her into the wall.  The suspect                           fled.

1100 block of Collier Road, NW – Aggravated assault was reported at an apartment complex on the morning of Jan. 29. The victim said he had been assaulted by his stepson. The victim said his stepson was having an argument with his mother, and the victim came to calm the situation. The suspect hit the victim several times.  The victim went to the hospital to be treated for some minor scratches. The hospital called 911.  The suspect was arrested and charged with simple battery and domestic violence and transported to Fulton County Jail.
