The Dunwoody Nature Center starts its annual spring plant sale March 15. The month-long sale will be conducted only online this year, according to the center.

The 2011 plant sale is being called “Claire’s Picks” to honor retiring center director Claire Waggenspack Hayes.

The center’s master gardeners selected nearly 50 plants, most of them native species, for the sale.

People interested in buying plants should go to the center’s website,  It will provide links to photos and descriptions of the plants being offered and will allow buyers to choose and order plants and pay online. The online sale lasts through April 15.

Plants will be available for pickup at the Dunwoody Nature Center on April 29 and 30.
