The following information was provided by the Sandy Springs Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Robbery

5900 block of Roswell Road 30328 – On March 5, a woman said she was with her ex-boyfriend and her friend, whom her ex-boyfriend is having a relationship with. All were drinking and soon an argument ensued between the victim and her ex-boyfriend. He assaulted her and then took her cell phone. (This is called a “strong-arm robbery”—robbery by force but not with a weapon.) She said he would not allow her to call 911 so she went home and called the cops the following day.

Burglary

5200 block of Roswell Road 30328 – Someone forced entry into the storage area of a cell phone relay tower and took about 100 feet of copper wiring on March 5.

700 block of Preston Woods Trail 30328 – On March 6, the victim said he returned from out of town and found that someone had kicked in his patio door and took several items from the apartment.

5800 block of Kayron Drive 30328 – Someone broke into a house through a back window on March 7. The entry activated the alarm and apparently scared the burglar off. Nothing was taken.

8300 block of Roswell Road 30350 – Sometime between March 4-7, the victim’s apartment was forcibly entered by someone prying a door open. His PS3 and 30 games, as well as his laptop and checkbook, were taken. He said the only person who knew he was out of town was his niece, whom he had just had an argument with.

200 block of Glen Lake Drive 30328 – The victim said when she entered her home on March 8 she realized that a side-balcony door was open. At the time of the report, nothing had been determined missing. Several cameras are on the property and being reviewed.

3900 block of The Valley (7100 Roswell Road) — On March 9, someone forced entry into an apartment in the  and took several items of jewelry.

20 block of Cedar Run 30350 – On March 9, someone forced an apartment door open, but according to the victim, did not take anything. The victim said he had had dispute going on with a neighbor and suspects him.

WAIT! THERE’S MORE: Another report filed on the same day indicates the victim went to the other guy’s apartment, entered uninvited, and began punching the man who was home eating dinner. The man then grabbed the victim’s decorative sword and threatened him with it. The victim picked up another sword to defend himself. The victim then went to another room and picked up a clothes iron and took a swing at the offender. The offender fled the apartment still clutching the sword.

Theft

5800 block of Glenridge Drive 30342 – On March 7, someone entered an office building and took just more than $600 from a locked box.

200 block of Johnson Ferry Road 30328 – A woman said that she was at the Goodwill Store on March 7, and while looking at an item, she set her purse down. According to her, she briefly walked away from the purse. When she returned, it was gone. She is missing $300 cash, personal information and a passport.

8600 block of Roberts Drive — A woman said she recently moved in from her previous address in Rex, Ga. The movers were paid $450 to move her. After she unpacked, she noticed several jewelry items, as well as her Social Security card and birth certificate missing. She suspects the movers.

1100 block of Perimeter Center West 30328 – On March 9, a woman said that sometime after lunch, someone went into her desk and took her wallet. The wallet contained $20 cash and credit cards as well as ID. The credit cards were immediately used at MARTA for $69. Later, two charges were made at Target for $200, $65 at a Chevron Station, and $185 at Macy’s.

Theft From Vehicles

Articles were stolen from vehicles on the following dates:

5800 block of Roswell Road 30328, March 5.

6 Concourse Parkway 30328, March 8.

300 block of Johnson Ferry Road 30328, March 9.

300 block of Mt. Vernon Hwy 30328, March 6.

Assault

A man reported that he was assaulted by another man. The cops talked to the other guy who said the first guy threatened to kill him because he ‘snitched’ on him to the cops several years ago. No action was taken.

Fraud

A woman on Natchez Trace said someone accessed her debit card number and purchased several hundred dollars in unknown merchandise with the card.

Arrests

4900 block of Roswell Road 30342 – On March 8, officers were called to a grocery store where a man had been detained for stuffing two jalapeno peppers and some “Just For Men” hair-coloring shampoo down his pants. He was arrested.

4500 block of Roswell Road — A woman walked into a drug store and opened a bottle of Maalox. She took two Maalox pills and then replaced the cap and went on her way. She was observed however, and later arrested on a copy of charges to appear, and given a trespass warning not to return.  She then offered to pay for the two pills.

Strange Brew

A woman on Cedar Run called the police on March 9 and reported a theft. She said that she was living with a man as a roommate. She was angry with him because he was wearing her clothing. She, “in her distaste for him” told his boyfriend that he was cheating on him. She moved out but kept some things at the apartment. She later found a number of her items missing from the apartment.
