The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
2700 block of Margaret Mitchell Drive, NW – On March 16, an auto theft was reported from a parking lot at this location. The victim said he left his keys in his vehicle while inside of the listed location. When he returned his vehicle was missing. When asked why he left the keys in the vehicle he stated, “he thought it was a good neighborhood.”
2100 block of Piedmont Avenue, NE – An auto theft was reported from a parking lot at this location on March 16. Officers were met by the U-Haul manager who said that while he was conducting an inventory of the vehicles he noticed a 14-foot U-haul truck with an Arizona tag missing from the parking lot. The parking lot of the business is not secured. The keys to the vehicle were located inside the business.
2700 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A car dealership at this location reported an auto theft on March 18. A Mercedes C300 loaner vehicle was noted missing from the lot by the service manager. The last time the vehicle was on contract was August 2010. Both vehicle keys were missing. All records indicated that the vehicle was still in inventory. Central Records was advised to put the vehicle into the system as stolen.
2400 block of Coronet Way, NW – A pedestrian robbery at this location was reported on March 15. The victim said he was robbed at gunpoint by four men in an apartment complex at the location. He said he was waiting for a friend when a blue Dodge Durango approached. He said three or four subjects got out of the vehicle with guns and one subject said, “give me everything you got.” The subject took an Acer laptop, a backpack and an iPod. They then got back into the vehicle and drove away. The victim did not immediately notify police, but remained at the location awaiting his friend. He telephoned his aunt, who contacted police two hours later. The victim said he did not call police because he “did not have a phone.” He also had walked past a police patrol vehicle after the incident but made no attempt to flag down or notify the officers. He did not recognize any of the suspects.
3300 block of Pinestream Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported from this location on March 16. The victim said she returned home to find that several items were missing from her home. She suspects someone must have entered her home through a back door that was accidently left open. Missing is a Panasonic 42-inch flat screen, Samsung surround sound, HP laptop, Apple office equipment, jewelry and a radio.
2500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – On March 17, a residential burglary was reported from an apartment complex at this location. The victim had $120 taken from a vase inside of his apartment. There was no forced entry, and the only other people that had a key was management, who had been in the apartment the day before to fix a sprinkler.
2800 block of North Hills Drive, NE – A residential burglary was reported from this location on March 17. The victim’s garage door opener was taken from an unlocked Nissan and the garage door was opened. Items were taken from the victim’s garage, and the victim’s wife’s purse was taken from a BMW which was parked inside the garage. Lawn care equipment was taken from a back shed and left on the front lawn and the neighbor’s front lawn.
7 block of Ivy Trail, NE – Aggravated assault was reported at a residence during the evening of March 14. The victim said that she and her boyfriend got into a dispute, and then he pushed her down, causing her to hurt her elbow. The victim didn’t call the police at the time because they were intoxicated and she didn’t want him to be arrested.
2900 block of Lenox Road, NE – A case of aggravated assault was reported at an apartment complex on March 16. The victim said she and her boyfriend were engaged in a physical altercation when he began choking her until she gagged, leaving visible marks on her neck.
1900 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – Aggravated assault was reported in a roadway on March 17. APD performed a traffic stop on a vehicle, but the driver refused to stop after the officer’s command. The vehicle drove off in the direction of the officer. The officer followed the vehicle a short time and the vehicle was eventually impounded by APD. The driver of the vehicle did strike several other vehicles as he tried to evade officers on the scene. The vehicle was discovered to have been carjacked from a female victim earlier in the day.
100 block of Alden Avenue, NW – A larceny at an apartment at this location was reported on March 12. The victim said that she went to stay with her friend for four weeks and left her guns at her apartment. The victim said when she returned from her friend’s house to her apartment she realized that two of her hand guns were missing. The victim said she gave permission to her friend to stay at the apartment, but her friend would not provide any information regarding the incident. The victim did not know who else might be responsible. There was no forced entry.
3200 block of Habersham Road, NW – A larceny from a residence at this location was reported on March 14. The victim said her jewelry was stolen from her bedroom closet.
2100 block of Piedmont Road, NE – On the evening of March 14, a larceny was reported from this location. The suspect was observed cutting metal pipe then placing the pipes in his truck. He was followed by the victim to a home improvement store where he identified the suspect to police. The suspect admitted to cutting the pipes and was arrested.
2300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An antiques store at this location reported a larceny on March 14. Four pieces of jewelry were stolen from a display. The display was found slightly open on a Tuesday morning. The display was supposed to be locked, but it is possible an employee left it unlocked.
3300 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny at a discount store at this location occurred on March 14. The suspect was observed concealing several cans of baby formula in a large black bag. When she returned to the store with the same bag, she was apprehended.
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store at this location was reported on March 15. APD responded to a shoplifting call, and was advised by store security that he witnessed, via video camera, the arrested person put a bracelet on top of her baby’s stroller and push the stroller out of the store with the bracelet sitting in plain view on top of the stroller.
3000 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from a driveway at this location was reported on March 15. The victim said she heard her vehicle alarm sound, and when she looked out of her window, she saw a male and female inside her vehicle. The victim pushed the panic button on her remote, and the suspects fled the scene.
700 block of Miami Circle, NE – A larceny from an art gallery at this location was reported on the evening of March 15. The victim said that an unknown suspect entered the gallery near the back office area and stole her wallet from her purse.
400 block of Armour Drive, NE – A larceny at this location was reported on March 15. The victim said that after leaving town, he received a text message from his cousin that said she was taking his possessions and putting them out of their apartment. According to the victim, the cousin sent him a picture of his belongings on the porch; however, he broke that cell phone and could not retrieve the photo. Police advised the victim that he could not be forced out of his residence without being evicted. It was confirmed upon entering the apartment that all of the victim’s belongings were gone, including two pairs of Nikes ($350), a pair of Polo boots ($200), a pair of Puma shoes ($80), a Hugo boss shirt ($100), H&M jeans ($40), Levi jeans ($90), t-shirts ($30), a suitcase ($300), a Puma book bag ($25), Macy’s jeans ($85), his car keys, assorted dress clothes ($500), a Nike track jacket ($55), a Polo sweater ($90), Polo boxer shorts ($40), an Armani shirt ($90), Armani sweater ($200), an Armani belt ($60), and other assorted clothing worth approximately $400.
2700 block of Defoors Ferry Road, NW – A larceny occurred at an apartment complex at this location on March 16. The victim said that he and his girlfriend were at his apartment when he left for work. When he returned home, he found his girlfriend and all of her things gone, and his apartment ransacked. The victim also noticed that his safe containing $4,500 in cash was missing.
1900 block of Sumter Street, NW – A larceny at a residence at this location occurred on March 16. A yard tiller was taken from the residence. A neighbor advised the victim that a tan SUV had been parked in front of the house.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A discount store at this location reported a larceny on March 17. The arrestee entered the store and concealed items inside a space saver tub. The arrestee paid for some items, but did not pay for the concealed items.
3000 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from a gas station at this location was reported on March 17. The reporting person said to police that a male suspect came into the business and took some motor oil and transmission fluid and left without paying. The male was last seen getting into an older model Honda Accord.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store at this location was reported on March 19. The two arrestees went into the fitting room, and when they came back out store security noticed that one of the arrestee’s purses seemed fuller. Store security stopped the women in the parking lot. The purse appeared to be of a clear material and had clothing inside.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A department store at this location reported a larceny on March 19. The victim said she went to get her make-up done at the make-up counter, and put her purse under her chair. Once she was done, she went to get her purse from under her chair and it was missing. The victim and manager did not see who took the purse.
Larceny from Vehicle
200 block of Pharr Road, NE – A larceny from an auto in a parking garage was reported on March 18 at this location. The victim said that five men’s suits and eight men’s dress shirts were missing from his vehicle. He said that his ex-girlfriend had an extra key to the vehicle, and was at the location earlier during the day. He was not going to press charges. No damage was done to the vehicle.
3200 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny from an auto in a parking garage occurred on March 18 at this location. The victim returned to his 1999 Dodge Durango and saw the driver’s side window was broken. He said two microphone stands, an iPod, electronic scanner and $2,000 cash was taken.
8 block of Peachtree Battle Avenue, NW – A larceny from an auto in a parking lot was reported on March 19 at this location. The victim said he had parked his vehicle at an elementary school to jog. The victim said he put his phone and wallet under the driver’s floor mat and when he returned, the driver’s window was smashed and the items were missing from under the floor mat.
