The Westminster’s Players put their own spin on Shakespeare with their spring production: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The high school thespians spliced music into the play, including popular songs from the 1960s like “Build me up buttercup” and “I know a place.” The 44 member cast included Westminster senior Maria Coyne as Titania and junior Ryan Heazel as Bottom.
Coyne arranged and produced the music for the show, including a song she wrote herself.
“There is no better way to get out emotion unless you sing about it,” Coyne said. “I think the music and the costumes help the audience relate more to the play and really get them into it.”
