The following information was provided by the SSPD from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Robbery

6000 block of Roswell Road 30328 – On May 8, a man said that about 10:30 p.m. he was in the parking lot adjacent to the Taboo-2 nightclub, in his car, talking to his girlfriend, when a car pulled up next to him. Two men got out and pulled guns. They took the victim’s cellphone and $290. The two suspects were in a black Ford Focus. Both suspects had “New York” accents and looked similar enough to have possibly been related.

Roswell and Dalrymple 30328 – On May 9, a man said he was robbed of $180. He said he had been near  a gas station around 10:30 p.m when two men robbed him. They then chased them with his car until he ran out of gas on I-285. To make things worse, a GSP Trooper pulled up while the man was on the side of the road. The trooper determined that the man had a suspended license and a little weed in his pocket. (He tossed it as the trooper walked up.) He said the suspects had a knife.

7900 block of Roswell Road 30350 – On May 21, a man said that while walking home at 2 a.m. he was assaulted and then robbed by two men armed with a rock. He said that they took his cash, cellphone, and wallet. He was treated for a head laceration and taken to the hospital.

4800 block of Roswell Road 30342 – A man reported that abound 10:30 p.m. on May 21, as he walked to his apartment, three men jumped him and knocked him to the ground. They took $20 cash from him.

5600 block Roswell Road 30342 – On May 25, a woman reported she was robbed in the parking lot of the Target Store by a man who had a black semi-automatic pistol. Taken was cash, a purse and wallet, two digital cameras, computer hard drive and laptop charger. The suspect got into a van, but the victim got the tag number. Another witness saw the victim screaming and running after the van.

Burglary

400 block of Morgan Falls Road 30350 – The victim left town for a couple of days, between May 5-8. When he returned, he found that someone came into the apartment through a window. He is missing a brown couch, TV stand, 42-inch TV, 300 CDs, and several items of clothing, valued at $1,500.

5700 block of Long Island Drive 30342 – Shortly after midnight on May 10, a cleaning crew employee said he heard — and then saw — two teenagers dumping a computer into a trash can, which they apparently intended to take with them. The man said he heard the voices and then saw the two teens cutting up with one another, obviously thinking there were no other people around. When they saw him, they ran and dropped the can which contained three laptops and related electronics. Officers found an unlocked door at the back of the school.

5500 block of Glenridge Drive 30342 – On May 10, someone entered the victim’s apartment through a rear window. Missing was $180.

10 block of Cedar Run 30350 – The victim, who works at night, said that sometime during the night of May 15, while he was gone, someone came in through a window and took several items including a TV, PS3 game system, and a couple of BB guns.

6300 block of Riverside Drive 30328 – Someone entered the home that is under construction, and stole several appliances on May 15. The home was alarmed, but suffered a power outage during a rainstorm.

200 block Northwood Drive 30342 – On May 16, a man said that after his wife was arrested for domestic violence, her daughter entered the apartment and took several items of jewelry.

300 block of Jefferson Drive 30328 – On May 16, someone entered the victim’s apartment through a back window (forced entry.) Several items were taken.

100 block of Northwood Drive 30342 – The victim said around 10 a.m.  on May 16 he heard a noise in his roommate’s bedroom. He checked and found an open window, but didn’t see anyone. Later he found that a PS2 game system, $400, a phone charger and bottle of whiskey were missing. A witness said he saw someone go into the apartment and actually knew the man. The cops talked to the man who later admitted the burglary. He was arrested.

300 block of Winding River Drive 30350 – On May 16, a man reported that he was inside his apartment when he heard his kitchen window break. He then locked himself in his bedroom and called the police. He later reported his laptop had been stolen.

7000 Roswell Road 30328 – The victim reported she left her home overnight on May 21. When she returned she noticed that the door was not stable and appeared to have been tampered with. She later found that someone had taken a TV and VCR. The burglar apparently accidently left a bag with pliers, scissors, a chisel, screwdrivers, etc. at the home.

1500 block of Summit Place 30350 – On May 21, the owner said someone had taken a TV, videogame system and a laptop while he was gone. No forced entry was found. The home was unlocked, but the owner said he secured it before leaving.

8100 block of Colquitt Road 30350 – On May 22, a man said that his apartment was burglarized and he suspects two “associates” of the crime. He said they offered to sell him some Ecstasy and he declined. The victim is missing an X-Box game system.

5700 block of Roswell Road 30342 – A man said that on May 23, someone broke into his unit at a public storage facility between May 9 and May 23. Several items were taken.

High Top Drive 30328 – This home was burglarized while the victims were out of town. Their son reported it on May 25 after being notified by a neighbor who picked up the mail. Although no forced entry was found, the inside was ransacked.

1100 block of Monterrey Parkway 30350 – On May 25, the victim said someone came into his home while he was in the parking lot of his apartment. Missing is a laptop and charger.

Theft

200 block of Hammond Drive 30328 – On May 8, a man walked into the Baskin-Robins store and ordered a cake. He tried to use a credit card to make the purchase, but it was declined. The man then fled with the cake.

5900 block of Roswell Road 30328 – Around 1 p.m. on May 9, a man stole some items from the Dollar Store. An employee detained the man for a moment while instructing others to call the cops. The man bolted and ran out the door, dropping a bag that contained toothpaste, fragrances, a dog collar, three shirts, incense, a lanyard, a newspaper and a gold “New York” hat.

4600 block of Roswell Road 30342 – The victim is employed by an apartment complex and was cleaning the pool on May 9. A man came into the apartment leasing office and, according to a witness, went into a desk and stole a ring.

700 block of Dalrymple Road 30350 – On May 9, a man reported someone stole his white 1997 Toyota 4-Runner.

A man on Dunwoody Creek Drive said he lost a $500 money order around Easter. He reported it this week and was told someone cashed it at a check cashing business.

400 block of Granite Ridge Place 30350 – A man evicted the tenants of his condo for not paying rent on May 9. They took his washer and dryer when they left.

7800 block of Roswell Road 30350 – On May 9, an employee of a liquor store said a man came in and took a bottle of Hennessy and walked up as if to pay for it. Suddenly, the man bolted out the door.

7800 block of Roswell Road 30350 – On May 9, a man reported that someone stole his black Infiniti I-30. The man said he left his keys on the seat of the car while he went into a video store.

700 block of Mt. Vernon Highway 30328 – On May 16, someone stole a prescription pad from a doctor’s office. The staff said a woman was in the office earlier that day, demanding to be seen, although she didn’t have an appointment. She said she was referred to the doctor for a prescription. The doctor told the woman that he could not see her without an appointment. He was sitting at a desk at the time. He got up to get his office manager, and, apparently at that time, the prescription pad was taken.

Bainbridge Drive — A woman said several pieces of jewelry were missing from her bedroom. She said that several contractors have been in her home prior to the theft.

6100 block of Peachtree Dunwoody Road 30328 – On May 17, the victim said three AC units were taken apart and about 75 feet of copper was stolen.

Windy Ridge Drive — A man reported that between May 13 and ,17 someone stole a rifle from his gun cabinet at his home.

1100 block of Hammond Drive 30328 – On May 20, officers were called to the Publix store after the staff detained a man who tried to steal two sub sandwiches by concealing them under his arm and then walking out the door. He was arrested and taken to Doraville Jail.

5500 block of Glenridge Drive 30342 – On May 20, a woman reported that her friend, named A.J., stole her black poodle. A.J. later told her that he left the dog at a friend’s house. The victim called the friend who said that her granddaughter had become attached to the dog and she was not going to return it.

Jett Road — A contractor said his Ford Econoline Van was taken from the front of a home on which he was working. He said a man climbed into the van and drove off. The contractor had left the keys in the ignition.

6100 block of Peachtree Dunwoody Road 30328 – On May 21, the victim said someone entered his hotel room and took a Fossil watch, valued at $125.

8900 block of Carroll Drive 30350 – On May 23, a woman reported that her new license plate was mailed to her old address on Carroll Lane. The plate has not been seen since.

5000 block of Roswell Road 30342 – Someone entered an office and stole two backup computer CDs on May 24. The company has a video camera at the front of the building but it’s a dummy camera.

800 block of Mt. Vernon Highway 30328 – On May 23, the victim said that during lunch, she left her purse in an unlocked drawer. The following day, she realized it was gone and later found that it was used in Dalton and Chattanooga.

5400 block of Meridian Mark Road 30342 – On May 25, a woman said that someone took $20 from her makeup bag in her room in an assisted-living center.

Fraud

A woman reported that someone accessed her bank card and made two purchases in Miami totaling over $2000.

On May 22, a man, who lives outside of Georgia, reported that he and his wife found a Land Rover on the Internet. He said that he thought he was on the eBay website, but apparently was not. According to the victim, he sent $3,500 to a man and address in Sandy Springs and then an additional $1,200 to another address in Atlanta to cover insurance. The police, handling the report in the other jurisdiction, said eBay did not have a record of the transaction.

8600 block of Roberts Drive 30350 – On May 23, the victim reported that over the past year, someone opened three accounts in her name and using her Social Security numbeer. Gas and electric accounts were opened in Massachusetts.

Assault

A man said he and a dinner guest got into an argument and the man punched him in the face. The man   then fled. The victim had a cut over his eye.

Brentwood Way — A man said that on May 15 he was assaulted by another man who stabbed him in the right forearm following an argument over the victim’s parking in an assigned parking space. The subject fled. Later, it was determined that the victim lied about the suspect and had actually been stabbed by his wife in what was described as an accident. She said she tripped and the knife cut her husband. Officers later determined that this was a domestic argument. She was arrested for aggravated assault and he on charges of filing a false police report.

Summerset Lane — A woman reported that on May 16 she was going through her fiancé’s cellphone and found text messages from a woman. She then began texting the woman. Her fiancé found out and hit her. He left before the cops arrived. The case is being investigated.

Northwood Drive — A man reported that on May 25, he asked to use a woman’s cellphone. She punched him out.

Strange Brew

8000 block of Roswell Road 30350 – On May 15, a woman said she asked her boyfriend if he was sleeping with anyone else. He got mad, then got dressed and was about to leave. She followed him to the door, saying he was overreacting. He turned around and bit her on the nose, leaving a mark.

A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend has been harassing her via Facebook. She said this was over a disagreement about a money transaction regarding car parts. Although no direct threats were made, he said, “I understand why people kill over money,” and, “I’m going to do some voodoo on you.”

A woman reported that she was corresponding with a man who was in prison. On one night, the man in prison called her but she couldn’t talk because she had another man at her apartment. The man in prison got angry and threatened her. She said that her uncle is also in prison and has given her name and information to other prisoners because she receives letters from other prisoners. The officer suggested that in the future, she should not communicate with prisoners whom she does not know.

Arrests

GA 400/Glenridge Connector 30342 – On May 22, two men were arrested for flagging down cars and panhandling for money. The cops had two different calls on the men, who were in a white pickup truck at various locations near Glenridge Drive. The officer located the truck and pulled it over. The men said they were delivering a load of tires and had run out of gas. On checking, the officer found that the driver had a license with another man’s information on it. He was arrested for giving false information to an officer, panhandling and loitering.

4500 block of Roswell Road 30342 – On May 24, a man walked into the Citgo Store at Roswell and Belle Isle Road and took a 12-pack of Budweiser and left without paying. The clerk followed the man to the parking lot. The man got into his car but the car wouldn’t start. The man then abandoned the car and ran. The cops ran the tag on the car and found that the man lived on Roswell Road. A patrol car found the man, still holding the beer, walking on Meadow Valley Drive. He was arrested and the car impounded.

6800 block of Roswell Road 30328 – On May 25 officers saw a car driving around to several condo buildings and parking in several parking spots. They stopped him and later arrested the driver for possession of marijuana and heroin.

5600 block of Roswell Road — A man was arrested and charged with faking Social Security numbers and making fake identification cards.

A number of arrests were made in connection with prostitutes and pimps soliciting over the Internet. Twelve persons were arrested including four pimps who drove the women to meet the customers.
