Parents, students and residents will have a chance to meet the two remaining finalists for superintendent of Atlanta’s public school system in a community meeting June 29, the school system announced.

The meeting is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. and will be held at the APS Center for Learning and Leadership building at 130 Trinity Ave. SW, the school system said.

Cheryl L. Atkinson, superintendent of the Lorain City Public Schools in Ohio, and Bonita Coleman-Potter, deputy superintendent of schools in Prince George’s County, Maryland, are the two remaining finalists for the job being vacated by Beverly Hall, who did not seek a contract renewal.

A third finalist, Barbara M. Jenkins, deputy superintendent of the Orange County Public Schools in Florida, withdrew earlier this week from consideration from the job, the school system said.
