The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Assault

2400 block of Peachtree Road, NW – Aggravated assault at an apartment was reported on June 11.  An officer spoke with the male victim who said he was in a verbal and physical altercation with his girlfriend. He also said that the girlfriend woke him up from his sleep by slapping him in the face.  The officer noticed redness and swelling on the left side of the victim’s face.  The girlfriend returned from leaving the scene and confirmed the victim’s statement. She said she was hurt from seeing graphic photos of other women on the victim’s phone. She was arrested for battery-domestic violence.

2400 block of Coronet Way, NW – Aggravated assault at an apartment was reported on June 16.  A female was physically attacked while she was exiting her apartment. She knew the attacker and fought her way off of him. The victim did not report the crime until later because she had to be on time for work.

Burglary

2000 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on June 6.  Victim #1 said he was at work when he received a call from his children that someone entered their apartment and stole some valuables. He said when he got home he immediately checked for his two pistols and noticed that both were missing.  Victim #2 and victim #3 said they left the apartment to go to the apartment complex’s pool. They said they did lock the door. When they got back to the apartment they noticed that the door was unlocked and some of their valuables were missing including a cell phone. When they noticed this they called their father.  The lock on the door was a coded lock different from the other apartments which victim #1had installed himself.

3100 block of Northside Drive, NW – A residential burglary was reported on June 10.  The rear patio door was shattered. The victim was out of town. A laptop computer and a 19′ Samsung television, sitting on the table in the kitchen area, were taken.

1100 block of Chattahoochee Avenue, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on June 11. The victim said his business had been burglarized.  When he returned to the location which is a empty retail space, he noticed $ 40,000 of copper and electronic wiring was missing. There were no cameras and no alarm systems.

4200 block of Northside Parkway, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on June 13. The reporting person said that when he arrived at work he noticed that his business had been broken into overnight. A window was open and he could see that his office had been gone through. The Dell desk top computer was missing. Several other offices were missing their computers along with a overhead projector that was in a conference room.

500 block of West Paces Ferry Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on June 13.  The victim said that when he went to his wine cellar to check for mold he discovered that approximately 104 bottles of fine wine were missing from his collection. There were no signs of forced entry being made to the wine cellar. The victim said that there are only three other people that have key access to the location.

3500 Kingsboro Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on June 14. The homeowner observed a man enter his garage and after a short while exit the garage. The homeowner entered the garage after and realized that his army uniform and bag were missing. The homeowner said his house was for sale and thought that the male was a prospective buyer checking out the house.

100 block of West Paces Ferry Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on June 14. Officers were met by the occupant of the house who claimed to be a sovereign citizen and said that he bought the house with stocks he owned with the city of Atlanta. The owner of the house said he did not give permission for anyone to be inside or on the property of the home. The suspect was arrested for burglary, criminal trespass and criminal damage to property.

3300 block of Rilman Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on June 16.  The victim said she arrived home and noticed a remote control in the driveway as she drove up. The victim saw that three flat panel televisions missing from her home, as well as a laptop computer and jewelry. An unspecified amount of coins were also missing.  It appeared that the perps gained entry through the back door. No signs of forced entry and no apparent signs that the locks had been jimmied.

Robbery

1100 block of Logan Circle, NW – A commercial robbery was reported on June 6. An officer was flagged down by the reporting party, who said he had hired by the victim to do some cleaning work. He reported the victim had been beaten and attempted to be robbed by an unidentified male.  Officers checked the inside of the business to find blood splattered and a brick in the front area.  According to the surveillance cameras, it appeared that the unidentified male demanded money from the victim. When the victim did not comply, the unidentified male got upset, and a scuffle took place.  Video cameras show the unidentified male striking the victim several times in the face and body with a brick. The victim suffered cuts and bruising. The unidentified male had what appeared to be a black handgun.

2100 block of Hollywood Road, NW – A commercial robbery was reported on June 9. The suspect entered the location and produced a black handgun and was able to leave the location with approximately $450-$600.

1500 block of Carroll Drive, NW – A robbery of a pedestrian was reported on June 11. The victim said she was walking through the parking lot toward her car when the suspect approached her. He demanded she give him a Coach purse she was carrying. The victim said she gave up the item and he ran toward her car. The suspect had a hammer in his right hand, and he raised it over her head.

700 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard, NE – A robbery of a pedestrian was reported on June 15. An agreement was made between the victim and a suspect to make a transaction over  two Apple iPads. The suspect told the victim to go to the back of a store since there were no cameras. The victim, eager to buy the iPads, followed the directions. The female suspect pulled out        a revolver and pointed it at the victim and demanded all the cash the suspect brought with him. The suspect did not report the crime at first because he was so shaken up at the time of the incident.

1900 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A commerical robbery was reported on June 15. The victims said the suspect was observed inside the store concealing item in a bag and eating a bag of chips belonging to the store. When the store employees approached the suspect he pepper sprayed them and fled the store.

2300 block of Peachtree Road, Road, NE – A robbery of a pedestrian was reported on June 16.  The victim said he was at a bank when he got into the elevator. A man also entered into the elevator with him and put a gun to his head and asked for his deposit. The victim gave him the money bag that contained $290. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was last seen getting into gold colored Chevrolet Impala.

Larceny

3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on June 6. The accused selected a belt and a pair of shorts, and wrapped the shorts around the belt, then approached the fragrance counter and selected a bottle of cologne and placed it in his left pocket and walk passed all points of sale without paying for the items (items totaled $207.50).  The accused was charged with theft by shoplifting and transported to Atlanta city jail.

800 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard, NE – A larceny from a hotel was reported on June 6. The victim said he had $6,000 in cash in a white envelope stolen that was in the front pocket of a carry-on bag.  He also said he last saw the cash earlier in the day. The victim’s wife has been staying with him.  She said she had no knowledge of the victim having the cash.

2300 block of Marietta Boulevard, NW – A larceny at a gas station was reported on June 7.  The reporting person said he was informed by a customer at the gas station that a man was seen removing a metal drain cover from the parking lot and putting it into the rear of a tan Ford Ranger pickup truck.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny at a mall was reported on June 8. The victim said that while she was in the food court someone stole her shopping bag that contained a pair of ladies Fendi shoes valued at $900.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a discount store was reported on June 8.  A security officer said that while monitoring video surveillance cameras he noticed the suspect     switching price tags on a pair of slippers from $7 to $1.  As she exited the store, she was detained.  The suspect thought being the amount was low she would not be charged.  She was arrested.

600 block of Mountain Way, NE – A larceny at a residence was reported on June 9. Trees were removed from the homeowner’s property without his permission.  Not sure of exact date or who did it.

3400 block of Lenox Road, NE – A larceny from an office building was reported on June 9.  The victim returned to her office desk and saw that her purse had been stolen.  Her driver’s license, Social Security card, $250, gift card, Sears Mastercard, and Visa card were taken.

3600 block of Haddon Hall Road, NW – A larceny at a residence was reported on June 14. The victim said that her nanny took a blank check from her savings account book and told her she would fill it out herself.  After being confronted by the victim, the suspect said she tore it up. The suspect also has a credit card from the victim that she misused. The suspect was fired and the victim changed her locks.

Larceny from Vehicle

2400 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from an auto at a nightclub was reported on June 5. The suspect(s) entered the victim’s vehicle by breaking out the driver’s side rear window.  An overnight bag was stolen that contained two pairs of pants, two shorts, two shirts, underwear, two bras, perfume, toiletry items, a work binder and two pair of shoes.

3400 block of Lakeside Drive, NE – A larceny from an auto in a garage was reported on June 6.   The victim said she parked her vehicle at the listed location, and upon her return she noticed damage to the driver’s side door lock. Entry had been made into her vehicle. The only item taken was 50 cents that was in the coin tray.

1700 block of Taylor Street, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 7. The reporting person said that someone cut a hole in the fence that leads to the business’s parking lot and stole a bumper from one of their company trucks.

3400 block of Northside Parkway, NW – A larceny from an auto in a parking garage was reported on June 8. The victim said he parked his vehicle at 6:15 p.m. and when re returned an hour later found there was damage to the convertible top of the vehicle.  He moved the vehicle and then realized that his laptop was missing.

3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto at a department store’s parking lot was reported on June 11.  The two victims said they parked and locked a white 2003 Ford F-150 truck.  Upon returning, one victim noticed that the front passenger door lock had been damaged.  A suitcase had been taken from the rear of the truck, containing personal effects, including $20k worth of jewelry and $1k worth of clothing.

3400 block of Stratford Road, NE – A larceny from an auto at a residence was reported on June 11. The victim said he came home at 12 a.m. He went out next around 3 p.m., and saw a large amount of gas on the ground around his car. The victim said when he looked at his car he noticed that the fuel door had been broken open and his gas cap was missing.  It appeared that the gas was being siphoned from the vehicle. There was no other damage to the car. The victim also said he saw a white truck leaving the area with lawn equipment on it but did not know the make or model.

100 block of Biscayne Drive, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 14.  The victim said she parked her vehicle and upon her return the next morning she saw that her someone had gone through her vehicle and left an “adult toy” on the left inside of the front passenger side seat.

2000 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 16.  The victim parked her vehicle 6:20 p.m. and returned the next day at 7 a.m. to find damage to the driver’s door lock mechanism. The glove compartment and center console were open and the victim’s diamond wedding ring and wedding bands were missing ($5,000); a bag of mail was also missing. The victim said that her bank called her to report someone had attempted to use her credit card.

Auto Theft

2400 block of Morosgo Way, NE – An auto theft from a residence was reported on June 10. The victim said that he parked his 1996 Chrysler Town and Country van in front of his house. When he woke up and looked outside his vehicle was gone.

700 block of Lindbergh Drive, NE – An auto theft from a parking lot was reported on June 10. The victim said that his green 1999 Jeep had been in the parking lot at 4 p.m. When he returned at 9:30 p.m. he could not find the vehicle.  He said the vehicle was equipped with a keyless entry alarm.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An auto theft was reported at a hotel on June 11. The victim said he parked his vehicle at 3:15 p.m. in hotel’s parking deck. When he returned it was not in the parking spot where he parked it.

3300 block of Woodhaven Road, NW – An auto theft was reported on June 14. The victim said he parked his vehicle on the shoulder and left the keys inside the vehicle in the cup holder. When he went back to the location to check on his vehicle he noticed it was gone.
