More than 30 cars were vandalized in Buckhead and nine were broken into at an apartment complex near Monroe Drive during the recent weekend, Atlanta police reported July 18. WSB-TV reported that as many as 50 Buckhead cars may have been broken into.

“The Atlanta Police Department is looking into all these incidents, but we strongly need the public’s help,” APD Zone 2 commander Maj. Robert Browning said in a statement issued by police. “We are asking residents not to leave anything of value in their vehicles. In these incidents, iPods, purses, laptops and various other items were in plain view. If items must be left in the vehicle, please put them in the trunk, out of sight.”
