Sandy Springs is alerting drivers to road work and repairs starting the night of Aug. 4 and continuing through the weekend.

The city said the Fulton County Department of Public Works will start emergency sewer repairs on Saturday, August 6 beginning at 8:00 a.m.  at 6090 Roswell Road. Crews anticipate this portion of work to be complete by 4:00 p.m. Additional work the nights of August 8 and 9, 2011 will include lane closures from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

“Traffic will be impacted on Roswell Road from Mt. Vernon Highway to Hammond Drive,” the press release states. “Please anticipate delays and use extreme caution in the work zone area. During the nighttime work, two southbound lanes and a turn lane will be temporarily shut down. Traffic will be diverted into the remaining northbound lanes.”

On Sunday, Aug. 7, the city reports, Georgia Power workers will continue their utility relocation work around the Roswell Road Bridge over I-285. The work will begin at 7 a.m. and last all day.

“During the same time, crews will also install a lane closure on the Roswell Road Bridge to move the existing utilities from one side of the bridge to a new location on the other side of the bridge. Once the pacing operation is completed on I-285 and the utilities have been moved, the lane closure on the bridge will be opened,” the city reported.
