My kids – all 223 of them – are special in their own little ways. They’re not my biological kids, but my writing students at the Creative Circus and Portfolio Center. Most of my kids have been smart, but some, well, they’re real smart. I’m not sure if it’s my teaching skills that make them that way but I’m proud to say they do tend to win all kinds of awards – nationally and internationally.

One particularly smart student I taught fell in love with Don Draper, the suave advertising creative director from AMC’s hit show Mad Men. I won’t name names, but Deanna Director and her two friends, David Ma and Mike Quattrocchi, came up with a genius idea of how to possibly meet Mr. Draper. They have started a viral video campaign to bring Draper (played by Jon Hamm, or Seriously Hot Jon Hamm as some like to call him) to the Creative Circus to give their commencement speech.

I think it’s a brilliant idea, especially if I get to pick Don Draper up at the airport. I’ll be wearing a ‘60s outfit with my hair in an updoo, carrying a sterling silver lighter in one hand and a placard that reads DON DRAPER of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce in the other. You can help me – oh, I mean the students – meet Don Draper by sharing the video below. Put it on Facebook, Twitter and let Jon Hamm know he’s wanted (as if).

If he agrees to come, Atlanta INtown readers can come along to the airport with me to welcome him – in smart Mad Men attire, of course – to give Don Draper the respect he is due. Sigh.
