Gerry Romberg, Head Coach

As we enter the 2011 season, our goal is always to make the playoffs. We will use the first three games of the year as an exciting prelude to our region schedule. This year, we have the opportunity to play two powerful teams from Northern Florida, in addition to our local rival St. Pius. Playing strong teams such as these prepare our team for the rigors of the region schedule, which determines our playoff position. We also have an exciting opportunity to take part in the Great American Football Classic, meeting Greater Atlanta Christian in the Georgia Dome on September 17.

On the field, we return a number of starters on the offensive and defensive lines. These linemen will be expected to be a strength, and need to step up into leadership positions, both on and off the field. The linebacking corps is also experienced, returning two of last year’s three starters. We have to have big play from these experienced players in order to support a new quarterback, a number of new receivers, as well as defensive backs. For us, the season began in January, and our lifting and conditioning programs continue to be a reason we can compete in this demanding level of AA football. We all look forward to getting games started on Friday nights.
