The Buckhead Coalition reported on Sept. 15 that it plans a forum to discuss noise emanating from local nightclubs. The forum is scheduled for 1 PM at the Buckhead Theatre at 3110 Roswell Road on Thursday September 22 and is open to all, the coalition said in a press release.

“Reminding neighborhoods and nightclubs of the intolerable state of affairs experienced in Buckhead’s infamous East Village about twelve years ago, the Coalition is asking all concerned to come to an educational forum to explore methods of coexistence,” the coalition said in a press release.

“We are getting more and more complaints, primarily about late night noise, that has to be controlled,” coalition President Sam Massell said. “If the clubs don’t police themselves, we’re satisfied the City government will police them.”

Massell said the forum is designed for club owners and neighborhood representatives.

“The plan is to bring forth the problems publicly, and welcome instructions on compliance with city, county, and state laws,” the coalition reported in a press release.
