Sandy Springs residents and businesses will receive surveys from the U.S. Postal Service starting May 9 asking if they would like to use “Sandy Springs” instead of “Atlanta” as a default address.
ZIP codes in Sandy Springs now automatically default to Atlanta. City Spokeswoman Sharon Kraun said responses should be returned to the postal service.
If residents vote to change the default city, they can still use Atlanta as their postal address and the postal service still will recognize it.
