From police reports dated through April 21.
The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
1700 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – An aggravated assault in a parking garage was reported on April 9. Stemming from an earlier dispute, a man was recklessly driving a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle toward a woman. He later pointed a gun at her.
1800 block of Noble Creek Drive, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on April 10. Four Georgia Power Co. employees saw a man with a rifle running full speed toward Noble Creek. He stopped on his way back and threatened to kill them because they were looking at him. The man fired several shots into the address after threatening its occupants. Responding officers arrived and made contact with the occupant. After a search warrant was obtained, officers recovered the weapon from the apartment and the man was charged accordingly.
2400 block of Coronet Way, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on April 12. During a verbal argument, the arrestee grabbed the neck of the victim, resulting in a visible mark. Then the arrestee grabbed a hammer.
Cheshire Bridge Rd/ I-85 SB, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on April 16. A woman said she gives food to a homeless man every day. On this particular day, she asked the man to remove himself from a bed so that another individual could use it. The man began yelling and using profane language at her. He hit her in the head and face with a brick. She flagged down an officer to report what happened. The officer was able to apprehend the suspect and he was placed under arrest.
4400 block of Sentinel Post Road, NW – A robbery at a residence was reported on April 12. The suspects followed the victim home and while one waited in the car, the other went inside and robbed the homeowner of her jewelry. The suspects then fled the scene. They were spotted by police and stopped and arrested. Evidence was turned into property and the suspects were charged.
1600 block of Monroe Drive, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on April 12. A woman said she was robbed at gun point by a man. Inside of her bag were checks worth $5,000 and $200 in cash.
2000 block of Bolton Drive, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on April 20. A man said while standing in front of the location, two men approached and asked to use his cellphone. One of the men then struck the victim in the back of the head and they began fighting. During the fight, one of the men stole the victim’s wallet. The victim canceled his credit cards and suffered only minor scratches.
3500 block of Tuxedo Park, NW – A residential burglary was reported on April 9. Unknown suspect(s) stole an unknown amount of fine wine from the victim.
2400 block of Camellia Lane, NE – A burglary was reported on April 10. A man said someone entered his storage unit and stole property. There were no signs of forced entry being made to the unit. He said he has the master key to the unit, but a duplicate key was missing from the leasing office.
1900 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on April 10. Officers responded to the location on an audible alarm call, and it was discovered that the glass pane of the front door had been broken out by a concrete rock which was located on the lobby floor. A witness was on the scene and provided detailed information on what she heard. Security video shows a man enter the store and take items from the display.
900 block of Collier Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on April 11. A man said he returned home to find his front door had been pried open and a laptop, iPod and Xbox 360 were missing. He found his TV and golf clubs on the back porch.
1900 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a business was reported on April 9. A Texaco Express Lube employee said a man drove off without paying for his emissions test. There is surveillance video and they have his tag number.
2500 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard, NE – A larceny from a business was reported on April 9. A man was observed by a store security officer concealing $6.97 worth of screwdrivers in his waistband and then leaving the store without paying for them.
1300 block of Pasadena Avenue, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on April 9. A woman said her friend was housesitting for her and allowed several unauthorized male guests to stay at the residence. Upon returning home, she discovered various jewelry, worth $2,100, was missing from her bedroom. More is possibly missing; however the victim just inherited the jewelry from her mother and is unsure of what is missing. She has contacted her housesitting friend to determine the identity of the male guests.
3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on April 10. A woman said while she was at the gym someone stole her cellphone and wallet from her purse that was lying on the floor inside the gym.
1000 block of Roxboro Road, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on April 11. A woman said she paid former acquaintances to take care of her dog while she was out of the country. When she returned, they took the dog and the whereabouts are now unknown. She said they also had the pet’s micro chip information changed, although the dog is licensed to her in Fulton County.
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a parking lot was reported on April 12. A man said he was waiting for the valet to come and assist with retrieving his vehicle. He placed his computer bag down for a brief moment. He turned his head to get someone’s attention. When he turned back around, his computer bag was gone. His checkbook, laptop, iPad and titles to his vehicle were stolen.
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on April 13. A woman said she had two models using loaned tuxedos from a formal wear company and that one of the models failed to return the tuxedo after the fashion event. The model is not returning her calls.
2100 block of Defoors Ferry Road, NE – A larceny from a gas station was reported on April 14. Suspects stole the victim’s iPhone in a craigslist deal gone bad.
W. Paces Ferry Road, NW – A larceny was reported on April 15. The victims had several items taken from their bag while attending a wedding.
2400 block of Bolton Road, NW – A larceny was reported from a restaurant on April 16. The manager said an employee was on surveillance stealing money from the cash register. The manager said video showed the woman taking money to the rear and putting it in her purse. It also showed customers receiving their meals with her taking the money and charging them only a fraction of the normal price.
Larceny from Auto
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on April 9. A man said he left his vehicle in the parking lot with the window partially open because his dog was inside. Upon returning back to the vehicle he discovered his keys and checkbook were missing.
1300 block of Chattahoochee Avenue, NW – Larcenies from vehicles were reported on April 10. The reporting person said when he arrived at work, he walked the lot checking vehicles and discovered that tires were missing from three trucks.
2200 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – Larcenies from vehicles were reported on April 15. Two vehicles were broken into and items were taken. One of the vehicles had $53,000 worth of (700 pairs) eye glasses taken. The other one had a purse with contents inside stolen.
900 block of Paces Ferry Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on April 20. A security guard found the suspect sitting inside the victim’s vehicle, with the window broken out and a fire extinguisher sitting on the ground, next to the victim’s personal belongings. There is surveillance of the suspect climbing over the wall and squeezing through a small hole in the fence to access the secure parking lot. Another vehicle in the parking deck was also damaged.
3100 block of Piedmont Road, NE – An auto theft from a night club was reported on April 12. Unidentified suspect(s) stole a 2010 Chevy Tahoe from the parking lot area while the vehicle was left running and unattended by valet staff.
9800 block of Buckingham Circle, NW – An auto theft was reported on April 19. A man said he returned to the place he parked his mother’s vehicle to find it missing. He said the doors were unlocked and the keys were in the center console.
