The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
2100 block of Cheshire Bride Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on April 23. While providing security at a restaurant, an officer witnessed a physical confrontation. Outside the restaurant, the general manager was hit in the face with a closed fist by a man. The man was detained and placed in the back of a Zone 2 morning watch patrol vehicle. The victim said another man provoked the fight by intentionally bumping into him and then pushing him a second time. That man was also detained and placed in the back of the patrol vehicle. The victim had visible swelling on his left eye but refused medical attention. He said the incident began when he went outside the restaurant because he saw a group of men arguing. One suspect said he overheard arguing and ran outside to see what was going on. The other said he accidentally bumped into the victim and did not mean to make contact. The first suspect said he hit the victim because he was provoked. He said the victim attempted to choke him, and he punched him because the victim “was talking trash.”
2600 block of Lenox Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on April 23. A man said the suspect threatened him with a knife over the condition that the apartment was in. Both of them had been drinking. The victim packed his belongings and went to another location.
East Andrews Drive, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on April 24. A bartender said he asked a drunk patron to leave the bar several times, then the man pulled a six-inch buck knife on the manager who responded to help the bartender. The man said he was going to get a gun to shoot the manager and another employee.
1900 block of Piedmont Circle, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on April 28. A man said his domestic partner of three years shoved him with a metal chair, causing injury to his left hand. There were no visible cuts or swelling seen on his hand. The two had been engaged in a verbal altercation.
2100 block of Bolton Drive, NW – An aggravated assault was reported at an apartment on April 29. A woman said a man grabbed the front of her shirt and put a knife to her chest. She sustained a small bruise to her knee when she fell while trying to escape. She decided to file a report because she believes her downstairs neighbor had something to do with the attack.
2100 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported at an apartment on April 29. A woman said she and her husband got into a verbal argument, and then he slapped her on the cheek, spat in her face, and threw the bed covers on her. The husband was arrested at the scene.
1800 block of Piedmont Avenue, NE – An aggravated assault was reported at a restaurant on April 29. Two women were seen on video in a verbal dispute with an employee. The arrestees were seen grabbing and throwing wine glasses and alcoholic beverage bottles at the employees.
2300 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on May 1. A man said he was in the parking lot when four men, two brandishing kitchen knives, robbed him of his pants and shoes. His pants contained his Georgia license and an H&R block debit card.
1200 block of W. Paces Ferry Road, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on April 23. A woman employee of a restaurant said she was taking a daily deposit of $6,000 to the bank. She parked her vehicle and went inside the bank. When she got back into her car, a man opened the passenger door, put his hand over her mouth and stole her purse which contained the $6,000.
Peachtree Avenue, NE – A robbery in the street was reported on April 23. Unidentified suspects were in a red colored vehicle; one pointed a handgun at the head of a woman, taking her purse containing cash, a debit card and ID, off of her shoulder.
2300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on April 23. A woman said her 7- year-old son was waiting on a bench outside of the location and a man snatched an iPad out of his hands and fled in a black pickup truck.
2100 block of Defoors Ferry Road, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on April 24. A man said he met the suspects in the parking lot to sell his iPhone. He said that the suspects answered his ad on craiglist.com. He showed the phone to one of the suspects and the other suspect displayed a handgun in his waistband. The suspects fled on foot; one suspect got into a vehicle and left. The other suspect remained on foot.
100 block of Pharr Road, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on April 30. A man said that while he was walking down the street, he was approached by two men. One grabbed him from behind and held him in a bear hug. The other man took his book bag out of his hand. Both suspects fled the area on foot.
900 block of Paces Ferry Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on April 23. A man said he returned home to find his front door pried open and items missing from his residence, including two flat screen TVs, two Xbox 360s, an AR-15 rifle, an AK-47 rifle, ammunition for the listed weapons, camping equipment, a checkbook, an iPod, a laptop and a watch.
2600 block of Church Street, NW – A residential burglary was reported on April 27. A man said someone pried open the basement door and stole the brand new hot water heater from his rental property.
2200 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on May 1. A woman had a laptop and bag stolen from her home and was woken up by a stranger close to her bed.
3100 block of Ridgewood Road, NW – A larceny from a mailbox was reported on April 13. A man said he ordered two boxes of checks and one of the two boxes was stolen from his mailbox. A suspect who
used the name “Leroy Goober” then forged several of the checks and cashed them at a Wells Fargo branch. The total amount of the victim’s funds stolen through the forged checks is $1,320.
1900 block of Piedmont Circle, NE – A larceny from an animal hospital was reported on April 20. The manager said that in the period of 16 days, morphine and hydro-morphine were stolen from a locked medicine cabinet. The DEA and the Risk Safety Department were contacted.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a specialty store was reported on April 22. A man said he plugged his iPhone into a charging dock in the Apple store and stepped away, and when he returned the phone was gone. He has tracking software, but the phone was off.
2100 block of Main Street, NW – A larceny from a residence was reported on April 24. A woman said items including a cast iron bathtub and sink, three ladders, and lawn furniture went missing from her backyard. She said she returned home from out of town to find her fence damaged and the items gone.
1900 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a business was reported on April 25. An employee said five juveniles used the lamination machine then left without paying. Another employee also reported his cellphone missing from the store while the arrestees were inside. Officers located the suspects and apprehended them after a brief foot chase. The man’s cellphone was recovered. One of the arrestees also had pieces of a spark plug in his pocket.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a business was reported on April 26. Store employees said a man looked at a gold Breitling watch, then wrote down the price and left before returning to the store and selecting a white Breitling watch. The man then ran from the store without paying for the watch.
1400 block of Piedmont Avenue, NE – A larceny from a nightclub was reported on April 26. A woman said her purse was stolen from the bar. She said her purse was sitting in a chair next to her friend. Soon after, her purse was stolen.
1800 block of Fernwood Road, NW – A larceny was reported on April 30. A woman said a leaf blower was stolen from the back of her husband’s lawn service truck. The suspects’ vehicle was a maroon truck occupied by two men; one jumped out of the truck and took the victim’s leaf blower, dropping a lighter and a syringe full of liquid in the process.
2500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny was reported on April 30. A woman came to the precinct to report theft by a contractor. She said she wrote checks in excess of $50,000 for materials and said the suspect returned approximately $25,000 worth of the materials to either Lowe’s or Home Depot, and obtained gift cards.
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on April 30. A woman said her purse fell down between the seats while she was watching a movie at the theater. When the movie was over and the lights came on, she could not locate her purse.
1700 block of Liberty Parkway, NW – A larceny from a residence was reported on May 1. A woman said
she allowed a friend and three friends of that friend to sleep over. She discovered a watch, purse and perfume missing the following morning.
200 block of Buckhead Avenue, NE – A larceny from a specialty store was reported on May 1. An employee said a man and woman entered the store and the woman concealed a $3,450 belt in her purse while the man distracted the employee.
4100 block of East Brookhaven Drive, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on May 2. A woman said that several hundred dollars were missing from her purse and the only people in the residence at the time of the theft were the construction crew. The crew voluntarily emptied their pockets and did not have any money on them.
Larceny from Auto
1700 block of Peachtree Street, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on April 26. The victims said they returned to their vehicle to find the rear driver’s side window broken and their backpacks missing. The bags contained an Apple laptop, iPad, headphones, Dell laptop, external hard drive, digital camera, a pair of sunglasses and two shirts.
500 block of Amsterdam Avenue, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on April 28. A man said someone took his car keys from an unlocked locker in the gym and went outside and unlocked his 2006 Mercedes, then stole his wallet. The wallet contained $400, three credit cards and a driver’s license. The car keys were returned to the locker.
1900 block of Piedmont Circle, NE – An auto theft was reported on April 27. A man said he let a woman he had met while clubbing drive his vehicle. He fell asleep. When he awoke, his vehicle and $700 dollars in cash were gone.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An auto theft from a hotel was reported on April 29. A man said a valet parked his 2007 GMC Yukon at the hotel. The next day he went down to valet to get the keys to his vehicle and it was gone. The hotel staff said they would continue looking until they located the vehicle. The keys were still inside the valet box.
3200 block of Lenox Road, NE – An auto theft in a parking garage was reported on May 4. Two unidentified suspects forced a woman to the ground, taking the keys to her 2010 Ford Mustang, then left the scene in it.
