The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Assault

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on May 21. An officer was dispatched in reference to a dispute between co-workers.  Two women brushed up against each other and began a physical altercation involving a vase and physical contact. Charges filed were aggravated assault and battery.

3400 block of Stratford Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on May 21. A woman and her boyfriend (her child’s father) argued about his having another woman at their house while she was out of town.  The woman said the next morning, the boyfriend entered their child’s room and began kicking the child while she was lying on the floor.  The woman said the boyfriend next grabbed her by the neck and began choking her, leaving visible marks around her neck and on her legs. She said he grabbed her by her hair and tried to hit her with a glass candlestick holder, but she was able to get it from him, and it dropped and broke.  She said he grabbed their child and the baby’s head kept jerking back and forth while he was holding her.  She said when he entered the bathroom, he swung around, causing the baby to hit her head on the bathroom wall, leaving a bruise, causing swelling to the forehead.  The boyfriend tossed the baby to her and she was able to leave and call police.

3100 block of Roswell Road, NW – An aggravated assault at a nightclub was reported on May 23. Two women were involved in a verbal altercation.  Witnesses saw one strike the other with a bottle on the head, causing injury.

3400 block of Lenox Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on May 27. A man said he had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend. He told a friend that his girlfriend ran over his right foot and then his right ankle. He was uncooperative in providing information on the girlfriend, with whom he lives. He refused to have photographs of the injuries and walked out of Grady Hospital without treatment.

2400 block of Morosgo Place, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on May 28. A woman said the suspect held her against her will inside of the apartment and assaulted her by hitting her with a belt about the upper and lower body. She said she lost consciousness during the assault.  She was transported to Grady Hospital for medical attention. She said she knows the suspect.

1700 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – An aggravated assault in a parking lot was reported on May 31. A woman said that while she was walking through the crosswalk a man in a black Lexus almost hit her while shouting, “Get out of the way. This is a Lexus.”

Deering Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on June 1. An ex-boyfriend hit his ex-girlfriend with an open hand, causing bruising to the legs, back, arms, neck and left side of her face. He also damaged the home and electronics items — a TV , computer and ceiling fans — and put a hole in the wall.

Robbery      

700 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard, NE – A robbery of a pedestrian was reported on May 20.  A man said he was approached at a gas station by two other men. They demanded he hand over his wallet with $300 inside, a check book, and Louis Vuitton shoes that were on his feet. They threatened him with a gun and then shoved him on the ground.

1000 block of Lindbergh Drive, NE – A robbery was reported on the evening of May 20.             The victim, a taxi driver, picked up a passenger and when the taxi reached its destination, the driver was forced into the trunk of the taxi and $310 was stolen.

200 block of 26th Street, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on May 21. Three unidentified suspects pushed a woman to the ground, pointed a handgun to her face, demanded her car keys, and fled the scene with her car and groceries.

1200 block of Mackintosh Park, NW – A robbery at a residence was reported on May 24. A woman was threatened with further bodily harm if she attempted to get up off the floor while her belongings were being taken by her live-in boyfriend.

500 block of Northside Circle, NW – A robbery at an apartment was reported on May 25. Unidentified suspects knocked on the victim’s patio window, entered,  and pointed a handgun toward the victim, taking a wallet containing a large sum of cash and jewelry.

2500 block of Chantilly Drive, NE – A robbery at a hotel was reported on May 25.  A woman said the suspect followed her into the office with a handgun, pointing it at her and demanding money from the cash register. The suspect also took the bank deposit. The suspect fled on foot. The amount taken was $900.

3200 block of Lenox Road, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on May 26.             A man was approached by another man, asking for a courtesy ride. Upon giving him the ride the suspect asked the man if he had ever been robbed or carjacked, and said he had a gun. The victim replied no. The suspect told him he’d better get out of the vehicle if he did not want to be killed. The suspect then drove off with the vehicle.

1000 block of Woodland Avenue, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on May 31. One victim said they were approached by a man who produced a handgun and demanded their wallets. Once the man got the wallets he shot one of the victims in the foot and shot out both rear tires of their vehicle. The suspect fled the area on foot.

Burglary

3500 block of Tuxedo Court, NW – A residential burglary was reported on May 25. An officer responded to an alarm call. During the search, the arrested suspect was hiding inside of the home. The suspect did not have permission to be inside of the home and was charged with burglary.

1000 block of Huff Road, NW – A burglary was reported on May 26. Five unidentified suspects posing as law enforcement entered an apartment looking for a fictional person.  The suspects went through the apartment. No articles were taken.  The suspects went  into another apartment and took cash.

3400 block of Lenox Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on May 27. An unidentified suspect threw a rock at the front glass door, looked through a few cabinets, and left without taking anything.

2600 block of Rivers Edge Drive, NE – A residential burglary was reported on May 29. The suspect was seen by police attempting to break into a residence by prying open the rear doors. He had a backpack with him that contained a ski mask, condoms and a large wrench. He was arrested.

2100 block of Silas Way, NW – A residential burglary was reported on May 30. A man heard a loud banging noise and discovered another man in his den; the victim fled upstairs to protect his son after the suspect said, “I got something for you.”

Larceny

400 block of Spring Valley Road, NE – A larceny at a residence was reported on May 22.            A woman said she had silver under the bed and then she discovered that the items were missing. She believes a  cleaning lady removed the items with an unknown man who came to the house.

2300 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – A larceny from a grocery store was reported on May 22.  A woman     concealed meat packages inside her personal bag and violated a criminal trespass warning.  She was arrested and taken to jail.

1700 block of Pelham Road, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on May 23. A woman           said she found some of her jewelry missing from her jewelry drawer.  She said she last wore the jewelry a week ago. The house is for sale and several people have been in and out of the house. There is also a cleaning crew that had access to the house.

1600 block of Piedmont Avenue, NE – A larceny from a dental office was reported on May 24. The reporting person said that when he arrived at work, he discovered two nitrous oxide tanks were stolen from the cage where they are kept.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a grocery store was reported on May 25. The suspect stole a Bluetooth headset, oil warmer, orange Tang, mocha mix and socks. He concealed them inside his pants’ pockets and passed all points of sale without making a purchase. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail.

600 block of Morosgo Drive, NE – A larceny at a gas station was reported on May 26. A woman took a package of paper towels without paying.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a parking lot was reported on May 27. A brother and sister were left in the car for a few minutes in a store parking lot while their mother picked up a few items. The brother and sister were each talking on their cellphones when two men reached through the window, snatched both   cellphones, and fled the scene in a white SUV.

1700 block of Monroe Drive, NE – A larceny at a grocery store was reported on May 29.                A man attempted to conceal steaks inside the bathroom and then leave. When confronted by a store employee, he elbowed him in an attempt to get away. He was arrested and charged.

1900 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny was reported on May 30. A woman said an acquaintance who visited her in the hospital watched her use an ATM machine and obtained her pin number, then stole her debit card and made around 50 unauthorized transactions over a one-month period. She confronted the suspect who returned her debit card and check book; however he had made over $4,000 worth of transactions with her card.

2700 block of Lenox Road, NE – A larceny from a business was reported on May 30. A woman said that a man came into her office building and waited for a little while to go into the restroom. He then left the building. Shortly after, she discovered that her wallet had been stolen from her purse, which was in her office.

1200 block of Longcourte Drive, NW – A larceny from a residence was reported on May 31. A woman said she was at home and heard a hissing noise outside. When she looked, she saw three men near her a/c units. The men said they worked for Carrier Heating and Air and were there to fix a leak; however she informed them she did not call for repairs. The men then quickly left in a van. Several of the lines to the a/c units had been cut.

4200 block of Northside Parkway, NW – A larceny was reported on June 1. The victim reported that a plant that sat in front of the business was missing.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny at a hotel was reported on June 2.  A man said he left a bar with friends and headed back to their hotel. While walking, they found a drunk man (the suspect) lying on the sidewalk and vomiting on himself. After several taxis refused to give the drunk man transport, the victim thought it wise to bring the drunk stranger back to the hotel with him and his friends. The suspect later became angry and fought the victim and his friends and they kicked him out. The victim woke up in the morning and saw his wallet was gone. The valet attendant told him that the suspect tried to claim the victim’s car with the valet ticket that was in the victim’s wallet.

Larceny from Auto

2300 block of Parkland Drive NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on May 30. A man said he parked his vehicle in the garage, and upon returning to it the next morning, he discovered three of the windows had been n out and his wallet was taken from the center console.

2700 block of Pine Tree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on May 31. A woman returned to her vehicle and saw that someone took her iPod, GPS, sunglasses, scanner, hotspot box, headset and new clothing. She said her boyfriend left the door unlocked.

Auto Theft

200 block of Deering Road, NW – An auto theft was reported on May 31.  A woman said she parked the vehicle on the street in front of Café Intermezzo, and when she returned to the parking space she discovered that the vehicle had been stolen. She said that the vehicle was unlocked and the keys to it were in the middle console.

2100 block of Monroe Drive, NE – An auto theft was reported on June 2. A woman ran over a plastic bucket while exiting the highway and pulled over to remove it from under her car. A man came over to assist her. She got back into the car to try to move her vehicle from the bucket. When that did not work, she got out of the car again. The suspect got directly into the driver’s seat and drove away.  All of her personal items were in the car.
