The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Assault

1900 block of Piedmont Circle, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on June 3.  A man said a woman threw a box cutter at him, leaving a small cut to his stomach. He was also arrested due to the other party’s statements that he picked up the box cutter and threatened her with it.

Robbery      

2400 block of Coronet Way, NW – A residential robbery was reported on June 2. Unidentified suspects, one armed with a handgun, entered the residence of the two victims demanding money and making threats.  They took a flat screen TV, cash and jewelry.

1000 block of Woodland Avenue, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on June 3.  Two men were arrested and charged with assaulting another man with glass beer bottles and taking his duffle bag by force.

2500 block of Brookwood Drive, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on the evening of June 7.  A man said he was walking toward the Lindbergh MARTA station when he was approached by four men. One suspect pointed a black pistol at the victim’s head. One of the other suspects took the victim’s backpack, which contained several items. The man said his stolen cellphone might have tracking on it.

Burglary

1100 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on June 6. A man said a  restaurant was burglarized and two cash drawers with $500 in them had been stolen.  Video shows a man entering, picking up a register, and throwing it on the floor.

3200 block of Lenox Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on June 6. The dispatched officer noticed that the door to the residence was not disturbed. The apartment was in disarray. All of the victim’s cabinets were pulled out and beds tossed upside down. The victim said several items were stolen including a Wii game station, a laptop and two rings.

Larceny

2200 block of Marietta Boulevard, NW – A larceny was reported on June 3. An iPad was snatched out of a 3-year-old’s hands. No injuries.

1700 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a grocery store was reported on June 3. A man concealed meat in his pockets and attempted to leave without paying. He was arrested.

3100 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a business was reported on June 3. A woman came to work at a store and left her purse in the employee break room. The break room is not kept locked and is directly next to the customer bathrooms. The purse was gone when she went back to the break room two hours later. Another employee noticed two suspicious men standing near the break room door.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny at a discount store was reported on June 3. A woman concealed items in a duffel bag from the store, went to self-checkout, and paid for the bag but not for the items inside. She was held by security and arrested by police.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a store was reported on June 3. The suspects concealed items in their purses and attempted to leave the store without paying.  They were held by security and arrested by police. The dollar amount of the theft was of a felonious amount. The 4-year- old child that was with the arrestees was released to one of their mothers.

2900 block of Nancy Creek Road, NW – A larceny from a residence was reported on June 5. The victim reported approximately $30,000 worth of jewelry missing from the residence; no signs of forced entry and the victim did not know who could have taken the items.

2900 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny at a specialty store was reported on June 5.  An employee reported the arrestee concealed six comic books and exited the store. The arrestee was detained and all merchandise was recovered.

700 block of Holmes Street, NW – A larceny was reported on June 7.  A man said his mailbox was damaged and a “gold bar” he had ordered off of eBay was gone from the mailbox (he never received it). None of the other mailboxes were damaged.

600 block of Morosgo Drive, NE – A larceny from a gas station was reported on June 7. The suspect took $6 worth of sandwiches and ran out without paying for them. Employees followed the suspect and flagged down police, who happened to be patrolling the area. The suspect was arrested.

3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a hotel was reported on June 7.  A man left his laptop computer bag in front of his hotel room door when his key malfunctioned. He went to the front desk to get the key fixed, and when he returned, his bag was gone.

500 block of Main Street, NE – A larceny was reported on June 7. A man was in a parking deck inside his vehicle. While sitting in the driver’s seat, he was holding his iPhone and watching a video on the phone. The suspect came along the driver’s side of the vehicle and snatched the phone out of the victim’s hand. The victim saw the suspect running away with his phone.

100 block of W. Wieuca Road, NW – A larceny at a park was reported on June 7.  The victims went on a “walk” with their teacher/guide and left their personal items on a picnic table during their walk. The items were gone upon their return.

1000 block of Huff Road, NW – A larceny from a store was reported on June 8.  The victim said a trailer was stolen from their store, but they waited several days to report it because they were trying to get the video captured on a disk first (the disk is still not ready).  Video shows the suspect backing a vehicle up to the trailer, which contained miscellaneous items valued at $3,400, and taking it.

2200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on June 8. A man said his friend and former employee stole items, signed his name and cashed checks against his business, stole cash from the office safe, and made several unauthorized ATM withdrawals from the company account.

3100 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny was reported on June 8. A man said that while he was at the Buckhead Theater his cellphone went missing, and when he activated an application on it, it showed the location as Calhoun, Ga.

300 block of Pharr Road, NE – A larceny was reported on June 9.  While at the Marriott Hotel, a man became intoxicated, and was driven to his bank. His card was used to withdraw cash in the amount of $700.

Larceny from Auto

East Andrews Drive, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 3.  A security guard contacted police after seeing a man wearing gloves pulling on various car door handles. The witness also said the man entered a vehicle that was left unsecured. After making contact with the victim, she said nothing was taken from inside her vehicle. The man was taken into custody with his gloves and stolen items recovered from his vehicle.

1200 block of Logan Circle, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 4. A catalytic converter was cut off a Penske truck while it was parked during a three-day period. The suspects may have also damaged the entry gate to the parking lot in order to access the truck. The truck was too dirty to fingerprint.

3000 block of Margaret Mitchell Drive, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 4. A woman said her car had been broken into, her GPS taken and the hub caps stolen. She waited over one month to make a report because her insurance company told her to get one.

3200 block of Downwood Circle, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 6. A man said his 2002 Cadillac Escalade had been entered and few items had been stolen – $2,200 in cash, four hub caps, one gold necklace.

1100 block of Moores Mill Road, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 7.  A woman left her wallet sitting in the floorboard of her vehicle while she was inside the location. Upon returning, her door handle was damaged, and her wallet was gone.

100 block of W. Wieuca Road, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 7. A woman parked her car with her wallet lying on the passenger side floor board. She rolled up her windows and locked her doors. When she returned, her window was broken out and her wallet was gone.

3200 block of Lenox Road, NE – A larceny from an apartment was reported on June 7. A woman said she was contacted by a “Mr. Roxy” who said he worked for the management company and needed to inspect the apartment. He asked her to leave the home unlocked so he could inspect it. Later, she went to the office to ask about the inspection, and management told her no such inspection existed. Upon her return, her roommate’s laptop computer was gone from the apartment.

3500 block of Northside Parkway, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 8. The victim’s vehicle was broken into while parked and a piece of luggage full of knives was taken along with an iPad and some other items.

4400 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 8. A man said he left his vehicle in the parking lot and when he came back his passenger rear window was broken. Several items were taken including $10,000 cash, credit cards, a fire arm and a Fulton County Marshal ID badge.

1700 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 8. A man parked his car behind a nail salon’s loading dock in the morning, and when he returned in the evening, he saw his vehicle’s window had been broken out and his gym bag was gone. Miscellaneous clothing was in the bag – nothing of significant value.

3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 9.  The victims left their vehicle parked in a parking deck. One of the victims left an iPad on the backseat in plain view. Upon returning to vehicle two hours later, the driver’s door handle was damaged. The iPad was gone from backseat and items were taken from the trunk.

Auto Theft

3700 block of Roswell Road, NE – An auto theft was reported on June 3. A man said he turned over his key to the valet service when he entered the restaurant.  Upon leaving, he said he left the vehicle parked at the location. When he returned in the morning to retrieve his vehicle, it was missing. The valet said they gave the keys to the wrong person.

3000 block of Stone Gate Drive, NE – An auto theft was reported on June 3. A man said his 2008 Mercedes was taken. He said he met a girl at the Room Service Lounge, they went to bed and when he woke up the vehicle and the girl were both gone.

1100 block of Collier Road, NW – An auto theft from an apartment was reported on June 5. A woman said the key had been left in the ignition because it was stuck.

400 block of Northside Circle, NW – An auto theft from a lot was reported on June 6. A woman said that her 1998 Mercury Sable had been stolen. She said the vehicle was non-drivable and had been parked at the location about four weeks.
